After saying good-bye to the kitten, the broadband went into my computer. At the same time as the speed of the increase, the immediate problem is immediately placed in front of: The kitten had not slept before the things down, now a few minutes can be done. So, start to go crazy at an unprecedented speed to plug things into the hard drive, movies, games, music, software, and so on ... Within a few days, hard disk space began to get out. There is no way to see the end and will not be able to lose, had to buy back a burner and a large stack of blank discs. After signing a few CD-ROM with a marker pen, the more I feel sorry for myself, then, throw away the marker, open Photoshop, and have this article today.

For burning the disc, if the content is more single-minded, I will use a representative picture to make CD disc surface. For example, the MA Sanli old man's crosstalk, I found a picture, used it to make the cover, the content at a glance (Figure MA). Sometimes the CD is some books, such as more scattered content, do not want to be marked, then use grab tool to cut screen, and then to make. Today, let's take this example to illustrate how this simple CD-face is made.

Figure Ma

1. The first step is to intercept the screen image. Here, I chose Photoshop 7.0 to start the screen as an example. You can have a lot of choices about the screen catcher tool. I'm using a snagit. Start your capture software, turn on Photoshop, and press the catch hotkey so you can get a Photoshop splash screen when you press the hotkey. It's even easier to capture other static images. If you don't want to look for a catcher's screen just because of this image, the easiest way to do this is to press the print on the keyboard, and the captured image will be temporarily stored in your memory.

After Photoshop starts, create a new document with a size of 13x13 cm, a resolution of 144 pixels per inch, RGB mode, and transparent background. From the SnagIt default set up the gallery to find the image just intercepted, with Photoshop open. Cut it out and get the right picture (Figure 01). Then use CTRL + A to select all, CTRL + C copy, press CTRL + V to paste into our new document. With the Transform tool, zoom the image to just the entire document, note that the edges do not leave gaps.

Figure 01

If you're using the Print Screen key to catch the display, then select New command immediately after Photoshop starts, paste the screen into a new document, trim the screen, then create a new target document, and move the image by the previous steps.

2. Pasting the image does not add new layers, your image is still in layer 1, and now the layer 1 is renamed paste.

Now let's determine the scope of the CD. Open the Information panel and set the coordinate units to centimeters (figure 02a. Select the elliptical marquee tool, hold down the SHIFT key, and select a circle with a diameter of 12 centimeters. Use the marquee tool to move the selection to a more desirable location and save the selection as a channel circle. After you remove the unwanted images, deselect again, transform the selections, narrow the long width of the circle to the current 14%, delete the selection image, cancel the selection. (Figure 02b)

Figure 02a

Figure 02b

3. Load the Channel circle selection, transform the selection, narrow the circle selection to the current 32%, press shift+ctrl+j, cut and paste the selection image into Layer 1, and reduce the opacity of layer 1 to 25%. Load the opaque selection of the current layer, save as a channel cube, and rename layer 1 to Med. Cancel the selection.

Load the channel circle again, free transform, narrow the circular selection to the current 33%, select the layer paste, press SHIFT+CTRL+J, and cut and paste the selection image into layer 1. The image in layer 1 should be a very thin ring. Now use the layer style for layer 1 to add a stereo effect to it. Open the layer style, select the bevel and Emboss, and set the style to an inner bevel, which is smooth, with a depth of 100%, a direction, a size of 5 pixels, a softening of 0, a shading angle of 90 degrees, a global light, a height of 30 degrees, and a high light and dark tone remain unchanged. (Figure 03)

Figure 03

4. Now to add some stroke effects to the CD disc. Create a new layer on the Med layer, named stroke, load the channel circle selection, select the Stroke command, Width 1 pixels, center the position, and then reduce the opacity of the layer to 50%. (Figure 04)

Figure 04

5. If you still have the selection, select the layer paste, reduce the selection to 33.5%, cut the selection image into Layer 2, rename the layer to outer mid, and reduce the overall opacity to 70%. (Figure 05)

Figure 05

6. Here we deal with the text on the inner ring of the disc. Create a new layer on the stroke layer, select the Type tool, set the font to Arial, regular, size 7, and eliminate the jagged pattern for clarity, write text or enter numbers.

We need to arrange the text around the circle, and there's a very simple way to use the deformed text. OK in the text layer, open the variant text Options panel, set the shape to horizontal sector, adjust the degree of bending to approximate the circle, and then use the Move tool to move the text to a three-dimensional effect of layer 1 inside. Reduce opacity to around 22%. (Figure 06, for edge observation, the opacity of this picture layer has not changed, still 100%)

Figure 06

So far, you can say that we have done most of the work, you can take it to print. If you want to add a little more effect to this CD, please go on.

7. Select the layer paste, create a new layer on it, named for the class, with the Polygon lasso tool to select a tilted rectangle, the selection can not be inside the CD, but to include CD. Feathering the selection, the radius may be set larger, and here I set the feather radius to 40 pixels. Select the linear gradient in the gradient tool to make the gradient retention and selection gradient in the vertical direction, and deselect. (Figure 07a)

Figure 07a

Hold down the ALT key, click on the layers of the layer panel 3D layer and the paste of the intersection, the layer and paste group, so that the paste layer is equivalent to the 3D layer of the mask, so that it can only display the paste layer of the range of images. Reduce the opacity of the 3D layer to 75%, and the layer blending mode is set to filter, that is, the screen. (Figure 07b)

Figure 07b

For more granular effects, you can copy the 3D layer and move the replica layer above layer 1 because the layer 1 and paste layers are the only layers that are displayed with 100% opacity in all layers. Reduce the opacity of the replica layer to 50%, then group with layer 1, so that it only works on layer 1. (Figure CD1,CD2)
