PS Painting the Earth Tutorial

First, draw the Earth's warp-Wei line

About this step, is the Earth through the Wei line into a pattern, then fill the corresponding layer can be.

First, create a transparent canvas, note that the canvas is transparent, size is 50x50 pixel size. After that, the following figure is the same.

On the left and bottom of the canvas, use the Pencil tool to use the white color, each drawing a line, the thickness of the line is roughly 2 pixels.

OK, then, execute the menu "edit" → "define pattern" and pop up the following image.

In the diagram above, enter the name of the pattern you want to save, such as via the Wei line. In this way, the pattern is stored in the PS, which will be filled into the layer with the pattern.

Second, the earth painted blue gradient

Create a new white background with a 500x500 pixel-size canvas, as shown in the following dialog box.

Then, like the following figure, create a new layer, named "Blue Earth," and then draw a black circle in the layer.

Next, the layer styles are manipulated for the layers, respectively, with the inner shadow setting, as shown in the following figure.

Then, set the gradient overlay setting, as shown in the following figure.

About the above two properties of the setting, you can follow their own ideas to set, not necessarily according to my set, perhaps you set out the effect more beautiful more lifelike.

Third, fill in the new layer through the Wei line pattern

Like the following figure, create a new layer, the name is "Layer 1", and then fill in the first step of the saved pattern, the method is "edit" → "fill", and then find the custom pattern inside the "warp-Wei line" pattern, the effect of the following figure.

Iv. Import the outline of the world map

Create a new layer, the name is "Layer 2", in the layer, import or paste out a map of the world's outline, adjust its size roughly the following figure, just cover the earth is advisable. The effect is shown below.

V. Removing excess parts

To the Blue Earth layer outside the earth as a selection, and then, the layer 1, Layer 2 redundant parts are deleted, only in the Earth's range of parts, the effect of the following figure.

Six, spherical and set each layer

Here is the last step. Now, for the "Blue Earth", "Layer 1", "Layer 2" three layers each two times "filter" → "Twist" → "spherical" settings, the parameters are fully used by default.

The results are generally as shown above. And of course, Layer 1 's opacity is set to about 30%, Layer 2 's "blending mode" selects "Color Dodge", and then the opacity is probably set to 75%.
