28. Copy the planet layer, Get Planet Copy 2, adjust the order of the layers, put Planet 2 up one layer, put on the planet copy, and join the group automatically (figure 36). Load the opacity area of the layer planet, shrink the selection to 96%, feather 20 pixels, remove the image in the selection, and show the effect of the atmosphere. Continue adjusting to change the layer blending mode to "screen" to increase the +78 brightness (Figure 37a,37b). Rename the current layer to "front glow", rename the planet layer to "back glow", and rename the planet copy layer to "planet". This completes the beautiful atmosphere.

Next, we're going to use the channels we've done to make some clouds.

29. Select the layer planet to hide the four layers on it: light2, light1, shadow, and front glow. Load the channel CLOUD1 selection, reverse, and create a new layer on top of the planet layer, named "Clouds". Sets the foreground color to white, fills the selection, and the opacity is 100%, canceling the selection. (Figure 38)
