First look at the effect of the picture:
1th Step
Creates a new 1024x786 pixel file. Set foreground color to #780500 and background color to #210100, select the Gradient tool, click the radial gradient icon in the options bar, and then click and drag the mouse from the center to the Four Corners.
Create all uppercase text. The font used is Kimberley, the size is 331 points, the color is #ff221d, kerning is set to metrics.
Copy the text layer and change the opacity of the copy to 70%, and the fill value to 0%.
2nd Step
Double-click the original type layer to apply the following layer styles:
Bevel and Emboss
Depth: 246 size: 7 Check anti-aliasing highlight mode-color opacity: 10% Shadow mode-multiply bottom color: #4f4f4f
Contour
Tick anti-aliasing
Shadow
Uncheck Use global optical angle: 147 Distance: 10 Expansion: 7 Size: 18
The effect came out, look at the picture, is there a stereo? But the packaging gift box is usually textured and shiny. And that's exactly what we're going to add in the next step.
3rd Step
Double-click the duplicate type layer to apply the following layer styles:
Bevel and Emboss
Depth: 225 direction: Down Size: 15 uncheck Use global light angle: 80 Height: 60 contour: Round slope tick anti-aliasing highlight mode: Light Shadow mode-multiply opacity: 30%
Contour
Contour: semicircle Tick anti-aliasing
This is done to make the edges of the font smooth and shiny.
4th step
Press Ctrl/cmd+ to create a selection by clicking the thumbnail of the type layer.
Create a new layer between the two text layers, named the texture layer, and then change its blending mode to strong light and its opacity to 25%. Install pattern Bag: Damask wallpaper, and choose Paint Bucket tool. Change the fill to a pattern in the upper options bar and select the Cg_wallpaper11.png pattern. Fill in the pattern in the selection, and then ctrl+d to cancel the selection.
5th step
Set the foreground and background colors to black and white, and then select the Rectangle tool. We are now going to create the Ribbon section. When drawing a rectangle, it is based on the width of the letter.
The rectangular layer is positioned at the top of all layers, and the width of the rectangle is the ribbon width. Make sure the ribbon is not wider than 50% of the letter width.
Double-click the shape layer to apply the following layer styles:
Gradient Overlay
In the gradient settings, select the load gradient style pack gradient-shapes for Photoshop in Goldmedal.grd, and select Brass Bs 30 in the gradient type. Click OK.
Projection Distance: 1
This will make the ribbon look brighter and more lifelike.
6th step
Select the Pen tool, select the Add Anchor Point tool, and add an anchor point to the ribbon and the font bevel, as shown in the illustration.
Select the direct Selection tool, and then click and drag the two original anchor points on the corner of the rectangle. You can move by using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
Notice that after dragging the line between the original anchor point and the increasing anchor point becomes a curve, we'll adjust it next.
Select the conversion Point tool and click once for each additional anchor point, and now the curve becomes straight.
Do this with the top of the Ribbon.
7th step
Copy the Rectangle shape layer, then edit > Free Transform > Rotate 90 degrees counterclockwise. Note that the gradient overlay does not move when rotated.
Double-click the copied layer, and then change the gradient overlay angle of 0 to match the new shape layer.
The ribbon on the right looks easy to manipulate, but the left side is a bit tricky.
When you add an anchor point to the left section, be careful to keep the curve curved and cover the letters a little bit.
For the right part, simply select all the anchor points and move them to the edge.
8th Step
The ribbon looks a bit flat, so we add some shadows and a high light so they look more deep and stereoscopic. Create a new layer above all layers and name it a shadow, then change its blending mode to soft light and opacity to 70%. Create a new layer above the shadow layer, name the high light, and change its blending mode to overlay.
Be sure to keep these two layers above the other layers.
Press ctrl/cmd+ to click on the Ribbon shape layer to create a selection.
Select the Polygon Lasso tool, and then click the icon that crosses the selection in the options. Next, draw a shaded selection along the edge of the letter to make sure that the edge of the line is accurate.
Select the Gradient tool, select the foreground color to a transparent fill, and then click the icon for the linear gradient in the options bar. Make sure the shadow-layer selection is still in place, set the foreground color to black, and then click and drag to drag the gradient from bottom to top.
Press ctrl/cmd+ to click the Ribbon's shape layer, and then create a selection. This time, use the Polygon lasso tool to draw a high light selection. Toggles the foreground and background colors to white, ensures that the high-level selection is still in place, and then pulls a gradient down from the top.
Press ctrl/cmd+ D to get out of the constituency and you're done.
As for the rounded corners of the alphabet, if you don't want to create a selection, you can use a hard circle brush and eraser tool to shape shadows and high light.
Turn on the green Christmas bow and use the Magic wand tool to remove the background. Put the bow layer above all the layers, then press Ctrl/cmd + T to enter the free transform mode, adjust the size and angle according to your preference, then press ENTER/return to exit Free transform mode.
Put the bow at the junction of the two ribbons.
9th step
You can decide where to put the ribbon, usually in the upper-left corner of some letters or in the lower right corner to add ribbons. To do this, create a new rectangle, add the previously used layer style to it, rotate it, and modify its angle.
Again, you need to change the angle of the gradient overlay. Try a different value to see which angle matches the ribbon more.
When you're done, remember to add shadows and light to the ribbon as you did before.
Another cool trick is that you can change the gradient overlay by moving the gradient.
It's time consuming to add ribbons to other letters, but you'll be surprised when you finish.
10th Step
Place the Texture14 image on top of the background layer, and then change the blending mode of its layer to color dodge and opacity to 30%. This adds a nice, detailed texture background.
Click the icon in the lower-right corner of the panel to create a new fill or adjust layer, and then select the gradient map.
Place the adjustment layer between the text layer and the Ribbon layer so that the ribbon will not be affected. Then adjust the layer's blending mode to dot light, change opacity to 10%, and select a simple black to white gradient. This will have a bright, textured red effect.
We do it, look at the effect of the picture:
