How do we create a planetary effect? Somebody's going to tell you to use polar coordinates. But this method is really a bit outdated. Today @ His mountain eye to everyone strongly recommend a super convenient method, more convenient operation, more cool effect, a familiar scene to become a planet suspended in space, experience a god perspective of the feeling!

Polar coordinates are typically this way:
The picture is flipped vertically, then the polar coordinates are used.
The reason is to flip vertically, because the screen from top to bottom, reflected in the polar coordinates inside is from inside to outside, in order to ensure the effect of the planet, so to make vertical flip.
However, polar coordinates have several disadvantages that cannot be overcome:
One is to be cut to 1:1, otherwise the planet is not round, this waste a large part of the picture.
Second, polar coordinates of the link marks obvious, need to do a lot of post-processing.
Third, the controllability is too low.
We use a plug-in here, this plug-in name is called Flexify 2, this is a very professional, easy-to-use image distortion software, through which you can achieve a very rich picture effect.
Its adjustable options are very rich:
Only the different combinations of input and output reach thousands of groups, so it can achieve very professional results.
Of course, we want to make special effects planet, do not need very complex settings, because there are a lot of 3D content, this is not what we need.
We want to create special effects of the planet, just to the input set as a cylinder, the output is set to three-dimensional map, you can achieve our effect, as for the other buttons, by default.
Here's a tip: if you're not very familiar with latitude and longitude, rotation, and field use, you can click the Random button in the lower left corner.
It can automatically transform the effect, you can quickly find the shape of the effect you need, and then based on the prototype for fine tuning.
The main parameters we need to use are: latitude, longitude, rotation and field.
Latitude: Controls whether the image is curved inward or outward.
Longitude: Let the image rotate along one axis, changing the composition of the picture.
Rotation: Let the existing image rotate, will not change the composition of the screen.
Field: Controls the size of the image.
Generally speaking, our latitude value is smaller to render a ball.
The original image is this:
The effect after use is:
As you can see, there are some areas where the edges are not smooth, at which point we use the Clone Stamp tool to smear.
Here are some tips:
1, the use of soft edge brush.
2, the brush's opacity in about 60% more appropriate.
3, the brush's opacity to gradually reduce, from 60 to 40, and finally to 20, to achieve a smooth transition.
This plug-in and polar coordinates are different, it does not need to flip vertically, the top of the screen is the sky appears in the outside, which is also one of the reasons for its easy.
Of course, if we change one parameter, we get the same effect:
With this parameter, we do not need to perform a later smoothing operation.
Then, when choosing a picture, note that the following points can be a good way to reduce the workload:
1, above is the sky, the following is the surface of the picture is more ideal, directly can show the sky surrounding the effect of the ground. Note that the screen on both sides of the sky color gap should not be too large, otherwise there will be obvious signs of convergence, the need for a later smooth treatment.
2, the horizontal line of the screen is the best level, otherwise it will increase the work of smooth later.
