PS tutorial on coloring a character's hair with a gradient map

This tutorial uses a gradient map to paint the local color of the character. Of course this is just a way to apply a gradient map. A gradient map can be used in many places, such as rendering colors and so on.

1, open the original material, press CTRL+J copy a layer, if only the color of the words on the different to do the other. I am here to make the pictures more refreshing, simple whitening and grinding of the characters, as well as brighten the picture. The way I use it is to press ctrl+alt+~ to bring up the highlight selection and then use the curve to brighten it up a bit.

2. Now we're going to add a gradient map to change the color of the character's hair. Under the Layers panel, choose to create a new fill or adjustment layer, and then select a gradient map.

3. In the Gradient mapping editor, select the fade you want, and then click Confirm.

4, in the mask above the other than the hair in addition to the black brush erase, and then change the layer blending mode to "difference", you can complete the effect.
