Vista Lighting is very beautiful, this tutorial teaches you how to make Vista Aurora effect.

If you are a user of Windows Vista, you may be familiar with the image, or you can see it in some of their wallpaper or screensavers. In this PS tutorial, I will show you how to create this effect yourself. The Vista lighting effect, sometimes called the Aurora effect, can actually make an ordinary wallpaper a little more special. How to make this easier to implement. Just follow these simple steps to complete! (This tutorial is the basis of PS light effect, need to learn and understand)

Step 1
Before we start to do the lighting effect, we need to create a light background. We cannot simply use any background of our choice, but to create a suitable canvas. Locate the photo as a background (using the base palette, without modification). It can be any image ... Just make sure there's a lot of light and shadows in the picture. In addition, you can also go to Download the attached Photo Sample, and I use the same picture.

Step 2
Here, we need to apply a very strong Gaussian blur in Ps. Enter filter > Blur > Gaussian blur, move slider to very high value. You can get rid of all the details in the picture and have all the shades of the mesh blur. I applied a Gaussian blur of 75.

Step 3
Now, we will completely change our background, add the color balance adjustment layer. Create this layer, go to layer > new adjust layer > color balance. This "New layer" dialog box pops up, just click OK. Next, you'll see 3 different sliders, representing 3 different ranges of choices (shadows, midtones, high light). At this point, you try to move the slider on every range until you find a suitable result. If you are using the pictures I provided, these are the values I set: Shadows: -37,-40,7; midtones: 15,62,0; Highlights: -34,0,69.

Step 4
This is the background we have done. You can later choose to edit your color balance layer (just double-click the icon next to it), and now we have to do the effect. First, select the elliptical Marquee tool from your toolbar. Make a large selection and spread it across both ends of the canvas. You may need to move your constituency to do this. Then hold down Spacbar and drag the mouse (do not release the left mouse button). Eventually you should be able to get a slightly curved selection that covers the most part of the canvas. (In short, you want to draw a super oversized elliptical marquee.) )

Step 5
Create a new layer (above the adjustment layer) and use the toolbar's Brush tool. Select the default brush, and then modify the size, almost 200-300, and set the hardness to 0. Choose White as your foreground color. This step may require a number of repeated tests. But basically, you just have to brush the inside of the constituency you just made. Try to smear the entire selection evenly.

Step 6
Sets the blending mode of this layer to overlay. Cancel all selections (press CTRL + D or select > Cancel). Now, transform the layer so that its position is close to the vertical and along the right side of the canvas (see figure). To edit > Free transform, or press CTRL + T to implement.

Step 7
Repeat steps 5 and 61 or two times, and use a smaller brush size to put each new piece of light on a new layer!

Step 8
Now we have 2 or 3 different light, we will not continue to make them. Instead, copy the layers you make and change them into new shapes with a free transform. Remember to press CTRL + T to transform. Hold down the ALT, CTRL, and SHIFT keys as you drag the conversion point, and you'll get some interesting results.

Step 9
To add some more effects, you can use the color balance layer to add some extra color to the image. To do this, select a few of your light layers (Ctrl + SHIFT + click on Layers on the layer panel) and add a new color balance adjustment layer (as we did in step 3rd). The color balance adjustment layer automatically creates a layer mask, and it applies only to the selections you make. To ensure the foolproof, these new adjustment layers are placed above the light layer.

OK, it's done ~
