The insert () function is used to insert the specified object into the list.

Grammar

Insert () method syntax:

List.insert (index, obj)

  

Parameters
  • Index--the indexed position at which the object obj needs to be inserted.
  • Obj--To access objects in the list.
return value

The method does not return a value, but inserts the object at the specified position in the list.

Instance

The following example shows how the insert () function is used:

#!/usr/bin/pythonalist = [123, ' xyz ', ' Zara ', ' abc ']alist.insert (3) print "Final List:", alist

  

The result of the above example output is as follows:
