1) dot (.) to match any character, cannot match line break

In this mode (?:. | \ n) is a non-capturing group (a group that is only used for matching, which can be captured individually or numbered).

2) Re. Dotall

The Re.compile () function accepts a flag parameter called Re. Dotall, which is useful here, allows a point (.) in a regular expression to match any character, including newline characters.
