Qshutdown-an advanced shutdown artifact
Qshutdown is a QT program used to shut down, restart, pause, and sleep a computer at a specified time or after a few minutes. It may be useful for those who only work on computers at a specific time.
Qshutdown will display three warning reminders at the last 70 seconds. (If it is set to 1 minute or "local time + 1", it will only be displayed once .)
This program uses q6. it sends shutdown/restart/suspension/sleep requests to gnome or kde session manager, or to HAL or DeviceKit. If none of these work, the 'sudo shutdown-P now 'command will be used to shut down the server (note that the session will not be saved when a request is sent to HAL or DeviceKit or the shutdown command is used. If you use the shutdown command, the program will only be shut down or restarted ). Therefore, if nothing happens at the shutdown or reboot time, this means that the user lacks the permission to use the shutdown command.
In this case, you can perform the following operations:
Paste the following information to the terminal: "EDITOR: nano sudo-E just do" and add this line: "* ALL = NOPASSWD: /sbin/shutdown * replace it with your "User Name" or "% group name ".
The maximum Countdown count is 1440 minutes (24 hours ). The configuration file (and Log File) is located in ~ /. Qshutdown. The configuration file is qshutdown. conf.
For administrators:
After setting the Lock_all option in qshutdonw. conf to true, you cannot modify the setting. If you use "sudo chown root-R ~ /. Qshutdown and "sudo chmod 744 ~ /. Qshutdown/qshutdown. conf "command to modify the permission of qshutdown. conf, the user will not be able to modify the configuration file.
Install Qshutdown in Ubuntu
