As a network enthusiast, EndTo has finally activated its website through unremitting efforts. However, as the website grows, the files in the website space become increasingly messy. Generally, you need to download related software for FTP file management. website maintenance cannot be performed anytime, anywhere. The online management system login process provided by the service provider is cumbersome and simple. How can we quickly and effectively manage and maintain website files so that they become neat and orderly? In this issue, let EndTo introduce how to manage website files from the Web interface in the PHP system environment.

One-step Installation

To manage PHP website files online, you must use a program named "PHPCMS File Manager. The software is only 82 KB in size and is free of charge. It is constructed in PHP + AJAX mode, and the client uses the cache technology to reduce the burden on the server. Before use, make sure that the website space supports the Session and Zend components, and the PHP version is later than 4.10.

Download the main file of PHPCMS File Manager, decompress the program, and upload the folder "upload" and all the files to the PHP website space. Then, change the files to be sorted and the UPLOAD folder to the read/write mode. The method is to log on to the website space in the FTP software and change the permission attribute of these file directories to 777, that is, select the readable, writable, and executable check boxes.

Then execute the refresh command. After confirming that the installation is correct, enter the file address in the browser, that is, "http: // your domain name/upload/index. php ", press the Enter key, a simple program logon interface will appear (1 ).

Finally, log on to the system with the default username and password "admin". The program will automatically go to the password modification page, enter the default password and new password in the Password text box, and then set the directory where the program is located, click Submit.

Tip: The program directory can be set in a relatively hidden location, such as in a second-level or even multi-level directory, to reduce the chance of malicious use of the software.

Batch operations as needed

The File Manager program can perform almost all file management operations. It not only provides general functions such as uploading, downloading, creating, and renaming files, but also provides many other practical functions. Based on these practical functions, we can complete website management and maintenance operations.

Select the Upload File button in the function menu on the Manager homepage. The file upload module (2) is opened at the bottom of the page. Click Browse to select a local file, then click upload. The file capacity column in the program automatically displays the size of the file that occupies the website space. The file size is displayed in KB or Byte. You can sort and classify website files based on this function. You can click Download hyperlink to download the website files to your local disk. the operation method is the same as that for normal download, you can also use download tools such as thunder to download files at high speed. The software also provides a powerful Editor (3). After clicking edit, the source code of the file is displayed, it also provides local preview and Online Preview functions, making debugging of website files very simple and efficient;

In practical applications, there are often multiple files that need to be modified. In this case, you can click "add" to open the file selection module and add more files. The software imposes no restrictions on the number of files uploaded at a time, but the higher the number, the slower the upload speed.

Tip: when the number of files is large, the program may be unable to respond for a short time. In this case, you only need to wait for automatic recovery. If you close the browser directly, the file will be lost or damaged.

Data backup in one go

During website maintenance, webmasters often back up website data to avoid unexpected data loss. The downloading backup method is not only troublesome but also slow. In this case, we can use the File compression function provided by the program to quickly back up website data.

First, select the check box before the website file to be backed up, click "add to compressed file", and then enter the file name in the pop-up dialog box, be sure to enter the compressed file format with the suffix zip (figure 4 ). After confirmation, wait a moment and a compressed file package is created. You only need to download it and save it in a safe place.

If data loss or other problems occur unfortunately, we can restore the website to normal through backup by uploading the backup file to the website space first, go to the folder where the file is located from the program, click "decompress" after the zip backup file, and select the file directory to be decompressed to restore the website data.

Tip: After downloading the backup file to the local machine, it is best to delete the backup file in the website space. In this way, the extra space can be released, and the data security can be ensured.

Convenient remote download

The software provides a unique Remote File Download function to directly download files from other servers to the website server. Its advantage is that both are high-speed Web servers, the file transfer speed is much faster than uploading files directly from the local device, which allows you to conveniently install website programs and perform other operations.

You can click the remote download function, enter the remote file address and the new file name in the module (if you do not need to modify it, you can skip it), and click the "Download" button. Note that if the transmitted file is in the compressed format, you need to use the corresponding remote decompression tool to process the file.

Tip: If ASP type space is used, you can select "Qiu Yi File Manager" for online website management. The installation and use of this software is similar to that of PHPCMS File Manager, I will not go into details here.
