Quickly build a Linux operating system + Oracle database environment
I always wanted to learn about the O & M of Oracle databases in Linux, but the process of installing the Linux operating system from the beginning and then installing the Oracle database is really complicated, involving many operating systems and database configurations, high threshold. Recently, we found that Oracle has helped us with these tedious tasks by using Oracle VirtualBox + Oracle VM Virtual Appliances (also known as Oracle VM Templates ). It is not a dream to build a Linux operating system + A development/testing environment for Oracle databases within 15 minutes. Preparations: 1. Download and install Oracle's Virtual Machine Software-VirtualBox: Here2, download Oracle Pre-Built Developer VMs (for Oracle VM VirtualBox ): here we find the Database App Development VM on the Pre-Built VM page. This VM template has built-in Oracle Linux and many Oracle Database Development-related software, and you can use it without any further configuration. Let's take a look at the Software List:

  • Oracle Linux 6.5
  • Oracle Database 12c Release 1 Enterprise Edition
  • Oracle XML DB
  • Oracle SQL Developer
  • Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler
  • Oracle Application Express
  • Hands-On-Labs (accessed via the Toolbar Menu in Firefox)
Of course, in addition to the VM Template of the database, there are many other templates, such as Oracle WebCenter Portal VM, Solaris 11 Admin VM, SOA & BPM Development VM, and so on.

After the installation and configuration are complete, you only need to perform a few simple configurations. First open VirtualBox, manage> Import Virtual Computer (Import Appliance) and select the downloaded OVA file (Pre-built Oracle VM VirtualBox appliances) to Import the file to the virtual computer. Here you can make some personalized settings, for example, adjust the Virtual Machine name, memory... note: Remember to check "reinitialize MAC addresses of all NICs". If this option is not selected, the copied environment will have the same MAC address as the original environment, may cause network access problems. Run the VM after the import. Wait a few minutes to see the logon interface of Oracle Linux. The Default Login User is oracle and the password is oracle. The root user's password is also oracle. The logon page. In theory, network access should be acceptable. There is no problem with sqlplus accessing the database. Sys/oraclehr/oracle !!! Enjoy!
