Quickly discover and correct invalid links in a Web site _dreamweaver

Kill the invalid link before uploading

In order to prevent the site from uploading invalid links, before uploading we can use the FRONTPAGE2003 report function to check the link of the entire site, if you encounter invalid links can also be edited in time to repair. First of all, we need to check the link site to set the site to FrontPage2003, run FrontPage2003, select "file → new → made up of a Web site" into the Site template window, click "Browse" to specify your site directory, "OK" You can then open the entire Web site.

Execute "views → reports → questions → hyperlinks", pop-up dialog asks if you want to verify the hyperlinks in your Web site, click Yes to verify all hyperlinks, including internal links to site pages and external links to external sites, wait a moment FrontPage2003 will display the validation results (Figure 1). Validation results include the page where the link is located, the title of the page, the link target and type, and so on.

For an invalid link, FrontPage2003 the "break" in the status bar, selects and double-clicks an invalid hyperlink to break, and fixes the wrong hyperlink in the pop-up Hyperlink editing window. We can type the correct link address directly or select the correct file in "browse". If you have this same error link on other pages, we can select "Make changes to all pages" and then click the "Replace" button to repair all pages that contain this invalid link in the site.

Open the software, execute the "File→check URL" to open a dialogue window, enter the site you want to check the address, "OK" after the software will automatically visit the site and verify each link address, the verification after the end will display the results in the validation list (Figure 2), for invalid links, The software will be distinguished by the red font. Select Properties in the right key menu of the expiration link, and then in the Properties window, under pages linking to, you can see which pages use this invalid link, and you can repair the pages individually by downloading them.
