The method for connecting two routers to the Internet at the same time is not just one. You can also use other routing configuration methods. Here we will introduce the fastest method, so that you can do it in a few minutes. I use ADSL to access the Internet. I have two soho routers connected to each other, both of which are 4 channels. I have successfully accessed the Internet at, but currently there are 5 households, that is to say, the first route must be followed by a line, then the second route, and then the second route. The wiring method and settings of the route are as follows.
This situation is common. First, let's talk about the principle:
In the two router connection methods, router 1 provides layer-3 services (physical, data link, and network layer), and router 1 is a hub. Vro2 2 provides layer-4 services, that is, it acts as a vswitch. Vro2 2 can be viewed as a hub, that is to say, the five computers in the room are actually under the jurisdiction of vro1 1. The fixed IP address allocated from the router connection cannot be assigned to vro2 2, which is only used as the vswitch at the same time.
Solution:
Method 1: Start the DHCP service of vro1 1. Then, your room will receive the lan ip address allocated to you by vro1 1, note that your vro2 2 only acts as a vswitch here (you can change it to another vswitch) [recommended method]
Method 2: divide the IP address of vro1 1 into two subnet segments (by setting the subnet mask) your route 2 belongs to the subnet of Route 1, vro2 2 provides the routing function, and DNS servers are recommended to use large companies (we do not recommend using routes as DNS servers ).
Connect two Routers
Route 1 is used to pull a line from the LAN port of Route 1 to Route 2. It is inserted in the LAN port of Route 2, not in the Ethernet port, the network segment of the host must be the same as that of Route 1, and the gateway is the IP address of Route 1. No matter what route 2 is set, no matter what it is, Route 2 is equivalent to a switch.
Summary:
1. In fact, a vro is a vswitch without using the WAN port. You can directly use the vswitch cascade function.
2. Before connecting the second router to the network, modify its default LAN port IP address to prevent conflicts with the first LAN port IP address.
3. Use a direct connection to connect a LAN of the second router to the LAN port of the first router, connect the original computer and the new computer to the remaining LAN port of the second router through a direct connection.
