If you use Word to write a book, many friends are accustomed to saving each chapter as a separate file. When the book is complete, it usually needs to count the number of pages in the book. One by one, open the page to view the number of pages and add up, obviously more trouble. This article describes a practical word technique that allows you to easily see the number of pages in a Word document and then add them together without having to open all the files and use only the Windows Resource Manager.
The following is an example of Windows XP, which provides a quick way to count the number of pages in a Word document.
1. Use the Resource Manager to open a folder that contains multiple Word documents to count pages.
2. Click the View button in the toolbar, and then click Details on the pop-up menu. This will view the document in Details view.
3. Right-click any column in the details view (such as name or size), and then click the "Other ..." command in the pop-up menu, as shown in Figure 2. The Select Details dialog box opens.
4. In the Select Details dialog box, select the number of pages check box.
5. Click the OK button to see one More Page column in Explorer and show the number of pages per document.
6. To facilitate viewing of the number of pages in each chapter, drag the "pages" column to the right of the name column, so that each chapter has a clear view of how many pages.
