We will temporarily put aside the script writing and discuss something that we have been using but not explained. The quotation marks are described in this section. Quotation marks have two functions:

In the preceding example, text information is enclosed by double quotation marks. The reason we use double quotation marks is that we need to include all words as a whole. If quotation marks are not used, the bash interpreter will interpret all words behind the first word as other commands (the first word is interpreted as a command ).
