Today I finally saw UH's "indie game Big movie", and then I made a pit-daddy decision: Stop the development of the "Invert" project. Yes, I decided to stop the project before it was formally started, and it was permanently terminated. The decision was not made because it was impossible to develop a game on your own, but because I suddenly realized that I was not doing the game I wanted. Almost copy other people's ideas, before the start of the idea of how to profit, just how to attract players how to increase the retention, this is not all the thinking and mode of business games? What is the significance of such a game for independent development?
Whether it is the "big movie" or the discussion on the indieace to tell us clearly, the real good independent game, its body must have the author's own shadow. Independent game is the author's own thoughts and feelings of expression, rather than consumption and profit-making products, like the art of commercial film. is not to say that the business game is not good, the major manufacturers each year has a well-liked masterpiece, some of my own also have fun; but I always feel that the world should have a different voice, they can write a masterpiece, why can't I write a poem?
So I decided to stop the project and before I started, I needed to think about what I wanted to say. And how to express it? Game mechanism may have a reference to the invert part, but the overall will certainly be a model of their own. At the same time I will change the record form of the development log, no longer make a statement in detail, only at the key point on some common or core things to share. At the same time, will also overcome the intentional code word of the problem, as far as possible concise to explain problems. "Agile development" speaks well and delivers more software than any other moth.
