5 Programming styles and the abstractions they use:

1. 1. Process-oriented algorithms
   2. Object-oriented classes and objects
   3. Oriented to logical goals, usually expressed in predicate calculus
   4. Rule-oriented if--then the rule
   5. A constraint-invariant relationship

Each programming style is based on its own conceptual framework. For all object-oriented things, the conceptual framework is the object model.

There are 4 main elements of this model:

1. Abstract
2. Packaging
3. Modular
4. Hierarchical structure

3 Secondary elements:

1. Type
2. Concurrent
3. Lasting
