"Project Planning" in cmmi4 process domain"

Project planning (PP) is a management-level process domain of CMMs. Meeting this process domain is an important condition for reaching the level 2nd of CMMs.

 

Project planning management plays an important role in the software development process. This is because project planning reflects the understanding of customer needs and provides feasible plans for the management and actions of software engineering, is carried out in an orderly manner
The basis of software project activities and the basis for tracking, supervising and reviewing the implementation of the plan. Lack of a complete work plan often leads to a half success, or failure to meet the quality, date, and cost requirements of the project, or even software
Failed. Therefore, developing a thorough, concise, and accurate software project plan is the key to successful software product development.

What is software project planning?

Software Project planning management refers to the process of providing a reasonable foundation and reliable work plan for the operation of software projects and the management of software project activities. It aims to develop reasonable plans for implementing software engineering and managing software projects. Specifically, it should be:

(1) develop software projects on a reliable basis, document the plan, followed by developers, and follow up and check the implementation of the plan accordingly.

(2) determine the activities and commitments for software project development, so that the software development work can be carried out in an orderly and coordinated manner, so as to gradually fulfill the commitments to the customer according to the resources, constraints and capabilities of the software plan.

(3) Clarify the commitments of organizations and individuals related to software projects, implement the task responsibilities to groups and persons, and ensure the success of project development from the perspective of organization management.
