I didn't want to say a lot of theoretical stuff, but the OSI of note one is an important foundation of learning network so I'm going to talk a little bit more about what's practical.

Ethernet Channel Technology (ETHERCHANNEL): A connection between switches, can be multiple (less than or equal to 8) physical link logic bundled together, increase the bandwidth while increasing the stability of the network. (Short trunk link)

Introduction and configuration of VLAN (virtual local area network)

One, split broadcast domain:

1. Physical Segmentation : ( disadvantage: no future communication )

2. logical partitioning: Using VLAN technology.

3. Simplify network management

Third, types of VLANs:

1. Static VLAN

Port division-based Static Vlan

VLAN number range :

VLAN ID range	scope
" Strong>0 4095	reserved	users cannot view and use these VLANs
" Strong>1	normal	cisco default vlan user can use the but cannot delete it
" strong>2-1001	VLAN for Ethernet users can create, use, and delete these VLANs
" strong>1002-1005	normal	for FDDI default VLAN user cannot delete these VLANs
" strong>1006-1024	reserved	System only uses
1025-4094	Extended	for Ethernet only Vlan

Static configuration of the VLAN:

1. Create a VLAN

2. Adding ports to the VLAN

3. Verify ! (Show VLAN BRI/ show Vlan-switch Bri)

Step 1 command:

two different methods : Method One: Configure in VLAN database mode:

Sw1> en

Sw1#vlan database // enter VLAN databases

SW1 (VLAN) #vlan 2 [name SC] create VLAN 2 group

SW1 (VLAN) #exit // exit VLAN database mode

method Two: Configure under Global configuration:

sw1# conf t

Sw1 (config) # VLAN 2

SW1 (Config-vlan) # name SC

SW1 (Config-vlan) # exit

Sw1 (config) # VLAN 3-10,15 // create vlan3 to ten, and

SW1 (Config-vlan) # exit

Step 2 : Add a port to the VLAN:

int F0/1

Switchport Access VLAN 2 // add f0/1 to vlan2

SW a VLAN 2 // abbreviation

Exit

int range F0/1- // Enter a group of interfaces

SW a VLAN 2 // add f0/1 to f0/10 to vlan2

re-put the interface back into in VLAN1:

Int F0/1

No SW a VLAN 2

or SW a VLAN 1

2. dynamic VLAN

VLAN based on MAC address , not yet learned, and then send notes after learning
