Depending on the brand and model of your Android device, follow the steps provided in one of the following scenarios:

HTC device with a physical button
    1. Turn off Android devices. Remove the battery if the device cannot be turned off normally because of a loop.

    2. Press the menu button on the device and press and hold.

    3. Open the device and press and hold the menu key until the lock screen is displayed.

    4. The device boots into safe mode.

      The bottom left corner of the screen displays the word Safe mode. In safe mode, Android does not load any third-party applications, and you can uninstall the application that is causing the problem. Go to Settings > applications > manage applications to uninstall the application.

    5. To reboot the device into normal mode, turn the device off before turning it on.

HTC devices without physical buttons: (HTC Desire HD, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC EVO)
    1. Turn off the Android phone. Remove the battery if the device cannot be turned off normally because of a loop.

    2. Press the power button to turn on the device.

    3. When the HTC logo is displayed on the screen, Press and hold the volume decrease button.

    4. Press and hold the volume down button until the main screen loads and the word "Safe mode" is displayed on your screen. It vibrates before the device enters Safe mode.

      In safe mode, Android does not load any third-party applications, and you can uninstall the application that is causing the problem. Go to Settings > applications > manage applications to uninstall the application.

    5. To reboot the device into normal mode, turn the device off before turning it on.

Nexus One
    1. Turn off Android devices. If the device cannot be turned off as normal, remove the battery.

    2. Press the power button to start the device. When the logo appears, press and hold the track ball until the lock screen is displayed. Or, when the logo is displayed, you can also press and hold the touch-sensitive menu button.

    3. The device boots into safe mode.

Motorola Xoom
    • The Motorola Xoom does not provide any option to boot the device into Safe mode. If the device is stuck in a startup loop, press and hold the power and volume up keys at the same time to exit the loop.
