It was recently planned to upgrade Ubuntu from 12.04 to 12.10 and then upgrade to 13.04, but after upgrading to 12.10, it could be because of improper operation of one step and the inability to enter the system. But fortunately, the main files were saved before the upgrade, so they decided to reinstall Ubuntu. Here's a summary of the steps I've installed by using a hard drive:
First, File download
Ubuntu 13.04 Desktop 64-bit version download: Http://releases.ubuntu.com/13.04/ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.iso
Easybcd:http://www.linuxidc.com/linux/2012-10/72140.htm
Second, installation steps
0. Under Win7, make sure you have enough free hard disk space above 20G.
1. Copy the Ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.iso to the D-Packing directory, open the Ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.iso file with the RAR software, and the Intrd.lz and VMLINUZ.E in the. Disk directory and the Casper directory. Fi extract to the D packing directory.
2. Install and open the EASYBCD software and create a new neogrub.
Add new entry-"neogrub-" installation
Click on the configuration, in the pop-up TXT file editor with the following text overlay (where Vmlinuz.efi, Initrd.lz is and previously copied to the D packing directory of two file name corresponding)
Title Install Ubuntu 13.04
Root (hd0,2)
Kernel (hd0,2)/vmlinuz.efi boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/ubuntu-12.04-desktop-amd64.iso ro quietsplash Locale=zh_CN . UTF-8
INITRD (hd0,2)/initrd.lz
3. Restart Windows, on boot is select "Install ubuntu 13.04" into Ubuntu
4. Open Terminal (ctrl+alt+t), run
sudo umount-l/isodevice
5. Click the Desktop Install System button to start the installation
If you choose to install the Ubuntu boot menu separately, refer to the following method, detailed explanation see http://blog.csdn.net/holybin/article/details/17786473
6. Follow the prompts to select, where in the partition interface, you can refer to the following partitioning method: All partition types are selected as logical partition, partition size:/10~15g, swap partition 4g,/boot 200m,/home remaining hard disk space.
7. Choose to install grub to the/boot partition
Creating a guide for Ubuntu under Windows
8. Reboot into Windows, open EASYBCD, add new entry->linux/bsd->grub (Legacy) Add entry (can be removed in the Edit boot menu before adding an entry for Ubuntu to install)
9, replace the file with the same name under C drive with file AGN0 (http://forum.ubuntu.org.cn/download/file.php?id=170164)
Iii. Summary of problems encountered
Because the previous use of the 12.04 boot and Windows together, before the installation of 13.04, directly under the Win7 before the Linux partition removed, there is no way to enter the Windows7 problem. I use the old peaches WinPE u disk version into WinPE, with its own Diskgenius rewrite MBR after the normal access to windows7.
