VMware Tools is a very user-friendly program that VMware provides to solve the resolution problems of virtual machines, mouse performance, and the exchange of Ubuntu and host files. Vmmware Tools must be installed if the virtual machine is turned on and the operating system is installed. It is mounted by means of a CD-ROM image loaded into the relative operating system down to run.
Installation of Vmware Tools
First go to the Ubuntu system and click on the VMware menu-Virtual machine-to install VMware Tools. At this point, the installation CD image of the Linux version of VMware Tools is automatically loaded under Ubuntu. You'll see a disc icon called VMware Tools appears on the virtual machine's desktop and is automatically opened. This includes two files of vmwaretools-5.3.3-34685-i386.rpm and vmwaretools-5.3.3-34685.tar.gz. (. rpm files are prepared for Red hat, we only need the. tar.gz).
First open the terminal to set root permissions:
Ubuntu defaults to disabling root permissions, so the first step in the installation is to turn on root permissions first. The specific methods are:
First open the terminal: After entering the Ubuntu system, there is a tag in the upper left corner of the desktop: application-attachment-terminal. And then enter
sudo su
Enter the password of the current user and enter the root permission.

Unzip the tar package by executing the extract command
Tar vzxf vmwaretools-6.0.0-55017.tar.gz
Switch to the Vmware-tools-distrib directory

installing VMware Tools
./vmware-install.pl
All the way to the end until the word "enjoy--the VMware team" appears, Vmwaretools installation is complete.
Uninstallation of VMware Tools
/vmware-tools-distrib/bin/vmware-uninstall-tools.pl
However, when you install VMware Tools again, an error occurs. The workaround is to remove the/usr/lib/vmware-tools before installation:
