"Unable to verify your Windows installation" Error resolution appears in the Windows 10 package

The recent (when writing an article at the time this April) tested the virtual desktops in Windows Server 2016, everything was fine when testing the virtual desktops of Windows 7, but when you tested the virtual desktops of Windows 10, when you encapsulated a virtual machine on Windows 10, the " Sysprep could not verify your Windows installation "error prompt, as shown in 1-1.

Figure 1-1 Sysprep encapsulation failed

When viewing the Setupact.log file in the Open C:\windows\system32\sysprep\panther folder, there are a few lines of error messages (partial):

SYSPRP Failed to remove apps for the current USER:0X80073CF2.

SYSPRP Exit Code of Removeallapps thread was 0x3cf2.

SYSPRP actionplatform::launchmodule:failure occurred while executing ' sysprepgeneralizevalidate ' from C:\Windows\ System32\appxsysprep.dll; Dwret = 0x3cf2

SYSPRP Sysprepsession::validate:error in validating actions from C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep\ActionFiles\ Generalize.xml; Dwret = 0x3cf2

SYSPRP runplatformactions:failed while validating sysprepsession actions; Dwret = 0x3cf2

Searching for data on the web found that this is a common phenomenon, and basically every system that encapsulates Windows 10 will come across. The workaround is to deactivate the Windows Media Player Networking sharing Services service, but the Windows 10 service defaults to a "manual" state and is not enabled.

I started with the latest version of Windows 10 (version 1703), I thought it was a version issue, but tried to install 1607, 1511 still reported this error. I asked in the MVP group that there was an MVP who told me that the bug was always there.

After the test, because the first time you install Windows 10, using a newly created account, such as the machine I am currently experimenting with the user name is Linnan, I estimate may be insufficient permissions for this account. The same error still occurs when you enable the Administrator account in the system, swap with administrator login. Then look at the log, no fruit. But I think it might have been the "App Store". I tried to remove an account other than Administrator and execute Sysprep again to encapsulate it successfully! It was also successful to create a new virtual machine in Hyper-V, VMware Workstation, and install a different version of Windows 10 for testing.

In a nutshell: When system encapsulation is in Windows 10, enable and log on with the Administrator account and delete accounts other than administrator. Let's look at the main steps below.

(1) In Windows 10, open Computer Management → Local Users and groups → users, double-click Administrator to open the Properties dialog box and cancel the "account disabled" option, as shown in 1-2.

(2) Log off the current user, log in as Administrator, 1-3 as shown.

(3) Open "all settings → account → other users", you can see that there are currently a total of 2 accounts are Linnan and Ln, after confirming that the data of the two accounts have been backed up (in fact, this is the user created after the installation of the system, there is no data, generally only one user), select a user, click Delete "button, shown in 1-4.

(4) in the "to delete account and data" dialog box, click the "Delete account and Data" button, as shown in 1-5.

(5) After the deletion of other accounts and data, after deletion in "other users" no users, 1-6 shows.

(6) Enter the command Prompt window as an administrator, go to the C:\windows\system32\sysprep folder, execute Sysprep/generalize/shutdown, and click the OK button in the System Preparation Tool 3.14 dialog box. As shown in 1-7.

(7) Then Sysprep will begin execution, as shown in 1-8.

(8) After execution is complete, the virtual machine shuts down, as shown in 1-9. You can then use this virtual machine as a template to create a Windows 10 virtual desktop, which is not described.
