Rails production environment compiles CSS files

Problem phenomenon

Rails version, after upgrading to rails 3.0, when rails server-e=production, error actionview::template::error (application.css isn ' t precompiled ):

This is because assets pipeline is started after 3.0 and all **.css.scss, **.js.coffee files need to be precompiled,

Production environment is not compiled by default, and the development environment by default will be compiled first, so the development environment does not error.
Workaround method One: Modify PRODUCTION.RB
Config.assets.compile = True #默认为false

When you modify to True, the resource is later requested to recompile if no compilation is found. However, this will affect efficiency and it is recommended that you do not do so.

method Two: compiling by hand
Rake Assets:precompile

Then restart Rails server. This is the recommended practice.
