after the first two steps our Raspberry Pi has worked normally, but before actually using it to develop some column configuration and software installation, so that the development will be handy, below we introduce the common software and services
1. Configuration options:
The first time a Raspberry Pi is used, a simple configuration is required to run the following command in command-line mode:
$sudo Raspi-config
The new and old version of the configuration interface is not the same, the following list of two kinds of more common:
1) Old version
- Expand_rootfs – Extend the root partition to the entire SD card (the Raspberry Pi does not use the entire space of the SD card by default, a portion is reserved, recommended)
- overscan– can expand or reduce the screen (the old version can not adapt to the screen, the new version does not have this option, it seems to be adaptive, not carefully studied)
- configure_keyboard -keyboard Configuration Interface
- Change_pass -The default username is pi, password is raspberry, use SSH remote connection or serial login to use this user name and password, here you can change the password.
- Change_locale – Change the language settings. In locales to is generated:, select en_US. UTF-8 and ZH_CN. UTF-8. In the default locale for the system environment:, select en_US. UTF-8 (after the start of the machine, install the Chinese font, and then change back to ZH_CN. UTF-8, otherwise the first boot will appear the block).
- Change_timezone – because the Raspberry Pi does not have an internal clock, is the time taken over the network to select Asia–shanghai.
- Memory_split – The video memory configured for the desktop display.
- SSH – whether to activate the sshd service.
- Boot_behaviour – Set the graphical interface to start at startup, and normal is yes.
2) New version (newer mirrors are mostly the interface, making a lot of changes)
1 Expand Filesystem Extended file system (same old version).
2 change user Password changes the default PI user's password, press ENTER after entering the PI user's new password.
3 Enable Boot to Desktop/scratch when booting into the environment selection
Console Text console, requiring login (default)
Enter character console at startup, login required (default).
Desktop log in as user ' pi ' at the graphical desktop
At startup, go to the desktop of the Lxde graphical interface.
Scratch Start The Scratch programming environment upon boot
Enter the scratch programming environment at startup.
4 internationalisation Options internationalization option, you can change the default language
I1 Change Locale
Language and regional settings, it is recommended not to change, the default English is good. To change the Chinese language, it is best to install the Chinese font to do this step, the way to install Chinese fonts:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install Ttf-wqy-zenhei Ttf-wqy-microhei
Move to the bottom of the screen, use the SPACEBAR to select ZH-CN gb2312,zh-cn gb18030,zh-cn UTF-8, then press ENTER, then select ZH-CN in the default language and enter
I2 Change Timezone
Set the time zone, and if you do not set it, the pi is not displayed properly. Choose Asia and choose Chongqing (Chongqing).
I3 Change Keyboard Layout
Change the keyboard layout
5 Enable Camera
Start the PI camera module, if you want to enable, select Enable, disable the selection of disable on the line
6 Add to Rastrack
Add the location of your pi to a map of the world that opens this option, or do not open it, lest it be followed.
7 Overclock
None overclocking, running at 700Mhz, core frequency 250Mhz, Memory frequency 400Mhz, no increase in voltage
Modest moderate overclocking, running at 800Mhz, core frequency 250Mhz, Memory frequency 400Mhz, no increase in voltage
Medium Medium overclocking, running at 900Mhz, core frequency 250Mhz, memory frequency 450Mhz, increased voltage 2
High-height overclocking, running at 950Mhz, core frequency 250Mhz, memory frequency 450Mhz, increased voltage 6
Turbo Ultimate Overclocking, running at 1000Mhz, core frequency 500Mhz, memory frequency 600Mhz, increased voltage 6
8 Advanced Options Premium Settings
A1 Overscan whether to make screen content display full screen
A2 Hostname host name that can be seen on the network neighbor or router
A3 Memories Split Memory allocation, select how much memory to GPU
A4 ssh to run SSH login, it is recommended to open an account this option, after the operation of Pi convenient, network on the line, do not open the screen.
A5 SPI whether the SPI core driver is enabled by default, the novice will have no control.
A6 Audio Select whether the sound is output to the analog or HDMI ports by default
0 Auto Selection
1 Force 3.5mm (' headphone ') Jack forces output to 3.5mm analog port
2 Force HDMI forced output to HDMI
A7 Update automatically upgrades the Raspi-config tool to the latest version
9 about Raspi-config information about Raspi-config.
After the configuration is completed, the system will be restarted and the option can be validated.
