In Linux, read the ebook Contest: evinceVSxpdfVSkpdf-Linux general technology-Linux technology and application information. For more information, see the following. In Linux, we often read e-books. Commonly Used readers are evince, xpdf, and kpdf.

Evince is a pdf Reader provided by gnome. Many people use this reader.
Xpdf is a lightweight pdf reader with very little convenience and powerful functions.
Kpdf is said to have been modified based on xpdf. It feels similar to evince.

Let's talk about my own feelings:
Evince is too resource-consuming, and there is nothing special about it. The interface is also common.

Xpdf is really light and fast, but the interface is very simple, but supports key binding and other functions. However, after I installed it in ubuntu, the interface was garbled and I didn't want to study it for a while, so I stopped. However, he opened a PDF file quickly, which impressed me a lot.

Kpdf is like evince and xpdf. It may be a compromise solution. The opening speed is definitely not as high as that of xpdf, but its interface is really friendly and I like it very much.

In terms of performance, xpdf is still dominant. Below is a data comparison:

Open a pdf file with a size of 11 MB:

Evince occupies 32 MB of memory, which is about 4 s to open; xpdf occupies 7 M of memory, which is basically opened immediately; kpdf occupies 20 M of memory, which is about to be opened more than a second.

Evince is said to open a PDF file, and basically all the files are loaded into the memory. xpdf seems to be loaded with only a small amount of files. From the usage process, I can feel that the loading speed is quite fast due to a small quantity of files. Kpdf I still feel like they both have a compromise.
