It is very important to allocate vro IP addresses. So I have studied how to reasonably create a vro IP Address Allocation Scheme. I will share it with you here, hoping it will be useful to you. When you build a network for a small enterprise for the first time, you may not think too much about the impact of future development on the IP Address Configuration of the router. At the beginning of the plan, you may think that there are enough available addresses to meet the company's business growth needs in the future.

We all know that IPv4 addresses will be exhausted, and as your business grows, you may need more IPv4 addresses. So at the beginning of the plan, how should we develop a reasonable and scalable router IP Address Allocation Scheme? This solution must keep pace with the development of the company's network. Let's take a look at how to plan and store addresses when the company develops faster than you expected.

Starting from the private site selection solution for small enterprises

When a small company establishes a network for the first time, IP address planning is not a problem you need to consider. If the number of computers is small and the bandwidth demand is not high, you can assign a private IP address from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 to the computer. This range contains enough addresses to create 256 consecutive Class C networks with a total address of 65,535. Of course, if you need A subnet with fewer private addresses than this one, you can use private addresses in the range of class B and class. The 20-bit Class B is used for private addresses. From 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255, 16 consecutive Class B networks are provided. The total number of addresses is 1,048,576. The 24-bit Class A private address ranges from 10.0.0.0 to 10.20.255.255. This is A class A network with 16,777,215 independent addresses.

The IP addresses in these three ranges are configured for private router IP addresses and those that cannot be used for public networks. If private IP addresses are used on the LAN in the domain, you can use a network address translation device to allow computers in the domain to access the Internet through a single public IP address. A public IP address is provided by a network service provider. It is a fixed address or an address allocated by the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. However, as the network develops, even if you still use network address translation to handle most private addresses in the domain, you may still need more public IP addresses.

Public

As your company grows, you may need to configure servers on your network or on the DMZ peripheral network separated by the firewall on the LAN). These servers need to access the external network. Servers include network servers, email servers, and domain name servers. These servers require public IP addresses, and these addresses must be consistent for a long time. If your server changes the address, it will be difficult for Internet users to access. Therefore, you need to obtain a series of fixed vro IP addresses from the network service provider for network connection, instead of letting them automatically assign an IP address. This will make you more flexible when creating an address structure, but it often requires additional expenses. You can purchase a part of a Class C network as expected. Some ISPs will divide it into 5, 10, or 15 address blocks ), A complete Class C address block contains 256 addresses), or several consecutive Class C addresses.

Efficient subnet partitioning Solution

With the development of the built networks, it is generally necessary to divide them into subnets-for example, a group is assigned to the address groups of all computers on a specific floor or building. Traditional subnets are divided into large and small subnets. For example, a class C network with 254 addresses can be divided into eight subnets, with each subnet containing 30 hosts. However, a number of equal subnets are rarely created. If you need to build eight subnets, some require only 10 addresses, but others require 60 addresses, the traditional subnet division will force you to purchase an additional Class C network.

The variable-length subnet mask VLSM) solution is designed to address the above issues. This subnet setting method allows you to continue to set subnets under the subnet. As you can set subnets Under the selected subnet, and others are not set, you can set subnets of different scales. In this way, you will not waste a group of router IP addresses, of course, you do not have to spend money to buy a new address segment ).
