First, right-click "This computer" on the Win8.1 traditional desktop and choose Properties, as shown in the following figure:
Second, then select the advanced system options on the left as shown below:
Third, in the next interface, we are in "Performance Options" settings, as shown in the following figure:
Four, the next virtual memory option, select Change, as shown in the following figure:
In this virtual memory interface Select "Custom Size", the "Initial size" and "maximum" after the box to fill in the value you want. The best size should be your computer real physical memory 1.5-twice times, for example, you are 1G to set 1536-2048 so about it. But if your computer is running a 32-bit system, the maximum should not exceed 4GB, because the 32-bit system can only recognize 4GB of memory. If you don't want virtual memory to change frequently, you can set the maximum and minimum values to be the same.
Because all of the running programs in the computer are run through memory, the number of programs that are executed is much larger, which can lead to memory exhaustion. To solve this problem, Windows uses virtual memory technology, which takes out part of the hard disk space to act as memory. Virtual memory can really make your system smoother, but it will also increase the use of disk, so we set the virtual memory must be reasonable, so that the performance of the computer is also very helpful, if the set of unreasonable may lead to hard disk life, but less than the original.
