Red Hat has reduced the Linux operating system to create a hybrid technology that integrates traditional Virtual Methods supported by VMware, Microsoft, and Citrix.
Red Hat announced the Project Atomic program at a summit on Tuesday. This is another work of Red Hat and Its Silicon Valley partner, the new company Docker.

This technology combines Docker container technology with Linux components such as systemd, geard, and rpmOSTree to create a thin operating system, this system allows users to reduce excessive loads while taking advantage of virtualization.
"Virtual machines provide isolated methods for various applications, but this mode significantly increases resource and management loads," Red Hat explained on the Project Atomic web page. "Traditional enterprise operating systems use a separate runtime environment controlled by the operating system. This mode can be shared by all applications and does not need to meet the needs of modern centralized IT applications ."
The company explained that, in comparison, the original design of Atomic was to run Docker containers, which were built by the upstream components CentOS, Fedora, and Red Hat.
Docker containers use Linux kernel elements such as cgroups, lxc, and namespace to create a container for software applications that share host OS across applications, but Configure separate memory and storage for the container, CPU and network. Traditional virtualization also needs to share the OS, but in contrast, it needs to occupy valuable computing and storage space of the host.
With Docker, Red Hat has run as many as 1000 Apache services on a single node. Red Hat employee Dan Walsh said in his speech on Monday.
"Docker is used as the container command line interface? I think this is a very boring thing. Everyone can find ten different ways to accomplish it, "says Mr. Adams. Afterwards, he mentioned that "Using Docker as an encapsulation tool for transport software may change the rules of the game-maybe it can become an application store for RHEL servers."
Since Docker can save space, El Reg is skeptical that it cannot become a technology for managing large-scale distributed applications (now available in a dedicated market), but gradually shows its importance over time. This is also a defect in virtualization.
To take advantage of this transformation, Red Hat has created a Project Atomic, which pushes Docker containers to its own customers, and ensures that Red Hat Enterprise Linux runs wherever Docker is running.
However, Red Hat may still have some problems in this regard. On the one hand, there is already a Linux version built for warehouse computing, called CoreOS -- and it also integrates Docker.
On the other hand, Red Hat's technical partner's acumen-in another speech on Tuesday, Red Hat asked attendees about their plans to deploy Docker: 34.5% of respondents reported that they do not intend to deploy the service ".
