Redhat virtual machines: Installation of Vmware tools

Here's a quick introduction to how to install VMware Tools.

1. Right click on the virtual system on the left side of the VMware interface and select "Install vmware Tools"
Note: The virtual machine must be turned on and is not valid at shutdown.

This is just a system that loads the installation image files of VMware tools into a virtual CD drive,
Instead of actually installing VMware Tools.

2. Find the VMware Tools installation package
Right click on the Linux desktop, open the terminal, then enter the following command (note there are spaces):
Cd/media/cdrom(Note: Enter into the folder of the virtual CD-ROM)
LS (note: View files and subfolders in a folder)

The "VMware tools-5.5.3-34685.tar.gz" that appears at this time is the installation package name,
Remember it, it will be used later.

3, move the installation package, and then unzip the installation
In just the terminal, continue to enter the command:
CD/(Note: Back to the root directory)
CP media/cdrom/vmwaretools-5.5.3-34685.tar.gz/tmp (Note: Copy the installation package to the TMP folder)
Cd/tmp (Note: Enter the TMP folder)
Tar zxf vmwaretools-5.5.3-34685.tar.gz (Note: Unpacking the installation package)
CD Vmware-tools-distrib (note: Enter the extracted folder)
./vmware-install.pl (Note: Execution of installation files)

If you have all of the X Window environments and development tools installed in your Linux,
The above installation process should be relatively smooth,
During the installation, you will encounter issues such as "in which directory does want to install your Binaryfiles",
Just press ENTER on the line;

After the installation is complete, we also configure the resolution:

Set the resolution to make the screen clearer and more beautiful in full screen display
Note that this resolution is suitable for full-screen display,
Many people may be accustomed to using windowed mode to manipulate virtual systems (like me),
Then you should set the resolution smaller, such as 800x600.
At this point, VMware Tools is successfully installed,
