Enterprise it o & M personnel like [Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)] (Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) because the system is stable and highly supported, developers want the latest and best programming jobs. To help solve this problem, RedHat uses the latest stable version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) to test these new brand tools and then release them to developers.

This Friday, RedHat released the latest batch of new tools for developers/programmers: Red Hat Developer Toolset 3.1 Official version and Red Hat Software Collections 2 beta version, an open-source Web Developer tool, language, and database set. The lifecycle of all tools or software that provide self-RHEL has been shortened and the path to frequent updates has been taken.

RedHat developer tool suite

The features of Developer Toolset 3.1 include:

  • GNUCompiler Collection (GCC) 4.9.2: the latest stable upstream version of GCC, providing multiple improvements and bug fixes;
  • Eclipse 4.4.2: supports Java 8 and the latest Eclipse CDT (8.6) versions, Eclipse Linux Tools (3.2), Eclipse Mylyn (3.14.2), and Eclipse Egit/Jgit (3.6.1 );
  • Many other update packages, including GDB 7.8.2, elfutils 0.161, memstomp 0.1.5, SystemTap 2.6, Valgrind 3.10.1, Dyninst 8.2.1, and ltrace 0.7.91.

With these development tools, you can develop applications for RHEL 6 and 7.x. These applications can run on RHEL, whether physical machines, virtual machines, or cloud environments. They can also run on the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) Service OpenShift provided by RedHat.

These new developer Assembly includes packages that can run on the AMD64 and Intel 64 architectures RHEL 7. Although these tools are 64-bit, you can also use them to create or modify 32-bit binary files.

Before running any of these programs, you should install all the latest RHEL updates. To install this test toolkit, your system needs to subscribe to "available channels" to obtain the toolchain packages required by all Red Hat developers toolsets.

In addition, if you have installed a toolset of earlier versions, you may encounter some problems when installing Toolkit 3.1. Although these problems are easy to solve, you should check these problems before installing the new toolkit.

In Red Hat Software Collections 2, you will find these features:

  • Python 3.4: the latest and stable major release version of Python 3, as well as some additional practical tools and MySQL database connectors;
  • PHP 5.6: There are several changes to the improvement, migration, and upgrade paths;
  • Perl 5.20: the latest stable version of Perl includes some additional programs, scripts, and MySQL and PostgreSQL database connectors;
  • Ruby 2.2 and its own tool set: Rails 4.1 allows users to install and update Ruby, but does not have to install an update of Rails;
  • MySQL5.6: enhanced the high transaction throughput of InnoDB, improved the separation of query and management Database Tables, and improved performance detection;
  • MariaDB 10: Seamless MySQL replacement;
  • PostgreSQL 9.4: added new JSONB data types, added the scalability of Logical Decoding, and added new master-slave Replication tools, such as Bi-Directonal Replication, as well as performance improvements for several additional features;
  • MongoDB 2.6: a high-performance, cross-platform document database feature that comprehensively improves core servers and high scalability;
  • Passenger 4.0: for a modern Ruby Web and application server, Passenger 4.0 optimizes performance, memory usage, and ease of use.

There are many updates and improvements in the existing suite:

  • Maven 3.0.5: In the latest stable version, Java projects are automatically built;
  • Python 2.7: now includes python-wheel and python-pip;
  • Thermostat 1.2: based on transaction analysis, sampler profiler improvement, Maven archetypes optimization, and visual advancement of Swing clients and charts;
  • Nginx 1.6: an open-source and high-performance HTTP server;
  • DevAssistant 0.9.3: a utility used to build a development environment, publish code, and implement other related tasks. The latest stable version provides Bug fixes and supports earlier versions;
  • Node. js 0.10.33: the latest stable version fully supports the existing programming platform.

In addition, the Red Hat Software Collections 2 beta version now supports multiple versions in the same language. Therefore, this software package contains the new Python 2.7 encapsulation and will continue to support Python 3.3 and Python 3.4. In addition, not all programmers can use Dockerfiles.

At the same time, updates to the two programmer packages will be supported for at least two years. The RHEL developer must download and use it!
