This is a special Red Hat event, because for open source, you are not just our customers, you are not just our partners, you are our developers, testers, and you are our community. So I'm really glad to see so many people coming together to attend the largest summit in the history of RedHat, maybe next year. So I'm glad you're here. I think I thought back to my previous work in the airline this morning, and I always remember from time to time. My original company will also have a theme speaker who is flying over this morning to take the Delta route I used to take. So I sat there and kept thinking that the flight did land, because if the flight was delayed, the transportation in Boston would be a big problem. I'm glad I don't have to worry about these issues any more. I want to be brave, but I want to hear something important today. Let me reiterate this from the very beginning, because it is very important.

We are the leader in the Open Source Field and will continue to be the leader in the Open Source Field for quite some time. For us, this is not a problem of marketing. We didn't talk about how this product works. We didn't talk about how it works when promoting the source code. This does not even involve licenses. For us, open source is who we are and what we do, which is more important than everything we do. We have always adhered to this concept and will always adhere to this concept.

Let me give you a few examples, because it is relatively simple to talk about marketing activities, but it is much harder to maintain our open-source idea to do something practical. A good example is that we announced a patent right settlement case last week. Since many software companies are always announcing patent right settlement cases, what is special about this settlement case? As far as we know, most media also believe that this is the first settlement of a patent right that truly complies with the General Public License (GPL ). When we sign this patent right settlement case, we not only protect the Red Hat, we not only protect our customers, we protect all users from the upstream and downstream, whether they are people who do other things, or our competitors. This is the way open-source work is done, which makes us different. This is just one of the things we do, and many other things happen behind the scenes.

Almost everyone knows about the recent debate between OOXML and ODF, and it is clear that Redhat has been an active supporter of ODF and has been supporting the promotion of this format globally. But there may be something you don't know. If the format of a file is open, but you need the exclusive font to open it, I don't know how many files are open. Last year, we released the liberation font. We developed a set of fonts. The exclusive fonts commonly used in measurement are very similar and released to the market. They are completely free and open. This is actually very important for the world's ongoing debates, as we prove that these files are not only open, but can also be saved as they are, and 100% is completely free of charge, such a font and format. This is actually very valuable. It is not just a matter of time for us to get up and down, but a basic foundation for open source. As a leader in the open source field, we need to do so.

What I want to be clear about is that we trust the model. We are open-source in 100%. We do nothing with exclusive rights, and we do nothing with exclusive rights in the future. So for us, it doesn't matter about licenses, but about who we are and what we do. This will eventually bring better results to our customers. After talking about this, we are concerned that the only most important thing we can do to support open source is to work with our partners, we provide our customers with high-quality products, services, and solutions every day. Therefore, the primary task is execution, execution, and re-execution. As paul said earlier, we are very concerned about this. We are not very sure about this. To be clear, we are talking about software. We are making huge investments and doubling the investment in these fields. In fact, there are still some standards for specific data.

RedHat will launch more new products in a few years, more than any year in our history. This is just the beginning. Support is part of the Red Hat career path. Many companies are more concerned about how to obtain licenses and new technologies. Maintenance and other issues are not very important, and follow-up problems and services will not matter. For us, service is the key to our career path. We have many upstream maintenance experts, starting with RedHat's support. This is integrated into everything we do, because our model is based on open source. Once again, it is not a product, not a license, but who we are, what do we do. Therefore, support is an important part of our mainstream operations. Don't trust me easily.

RedHat won the first place in the "CIO Insight supplier value" survey for four consecutive years. Just a few weeks ago, a survey conducted by Nikkei showed that RedHat was Japan's largest IT supplier. All of these are based on our extraordinary support services. Of course we still have a lot to do and need to do. One of the things I learned from you over the past few months was that I had the opportunity to communicate with customers and partners and it was hard to get along with each other. The technology is really great, but it is not necessarily the easiest company to work. We have some things to deal with before, such as some real IT systems and customer records, how to make them easier to access, how to cooperate with partners, and how to communicate with each other, support our partners through our programs and systems.

A good example is the Red Hat Exchange Program (RHX), a software exchange program at the initial launch of the Red Hat eXchange program.
