Over the past decade, Linux has become increasingly popular with computer users. as a result, many people may encounter remote desktop configuration problems in RedHat Linux when learning Linux, this section describes how to configure remote desktop in Redhat Linux.
Step 1: modify the/etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess file and find the following statement:
# * # Any host can get a login window
Remove the # at the beginning and become
* # Any host can get a login window
Step 2: modify the/etc/X11/TPD. conf file and find the following statement:
[Xdmcp] this node
Enable = false
Enable = true or Enable = 1.
Find the following lines at the same time:
Port = 177
Make sure the row is not commented out. Because Port 177 is the listening port of the xdmcp service we want to configure.
Step 3: modify the/etc/inittab file and run the following statement:
Id: 3: initdefault:
As follows:
Id: 5: initdefault
If it turns out to be id: 5: initdefault:, you do not need to change it. This ensures that the system is started from the desktop environment.
At the same time, find the place where the following text is located in the file (usually in the last line ),
X: 5: respawn/etc/X11/preofdm-nodaemon
Modify it
X: 5: respawn:/usr/bin/TPD
Step 4: modify the last line of/etc/X11/xdm-config in
DisplayManager. requestPort: 0
Add at the beginning of this line! As follows:
! DisplayManager. requestPort: 0
Finally, if our Linux machine is configured with a firewall, in order to prevent the firewall from worrying about data through Port 177 (xdmcp service, we must add the following rules (execute the following statement under the root user ):
Iptables-a input-p udp-s 0/0-d 0/0 -- dport 177-j ACCEPT
So far, we have basically finished configuring remote desktop in Linux.
After restart, use Xmanager to log on. The preceding section describes how to configure remote desktop in RedHat Linux.
