Reflection from masters
This article is excerpted from the preface to future product design.
The Ideas Reflected by Mr. Don Norman's early works have influenced and promoted me. Some important design friends and my company around me are gradually forming a design philosophy and outlook on life. In my company, we often work together to explore what designs have emerged around the world or are being felt by humans, what are functional designs, what are behavior layer designs, and what are reflective designs.
Speaking of reflective design, I have to mention a famous world visual communication master. During my college career, I was very honored to become a student of Mr. Fukuda. Unfortunately, this year my teacher died. I was very sad to hear about his death, so I and the company's designers reviewed the design work of the teacher again. In this perception, I think the design of the teacher is a reflection design, he is a master who has achieved the true, thought-changing, simple and beautiful life realm.
Similarly, the architectural language he created was a reflection on design, design, and human nature that led me to another architect, Mr. anteng zhongxiong, many years ago. Why do I care so much about and mention them here?
One is because I think Mr. Don Norman, Mr. Fukuda, and Mr. anteng are like a bridge, quietly calling us with their sincere power, it helps us to see the essence of the world's retreat from the flashy world, and to reflect on ourselves, and then use our own tools to create a future.
The second reason is that they are masters in different fields and in the same realm of life. They reflect a kind of noble attitude of people, such as strict requirements for self-perfection for a lifetime, in-depth and meticulous observation of life, A kind of neighborhood of Self-challenge. I think this is the sublimation of people and the most valuable wealth. I still remember that a well-known professor from Cambridge University was visited to talk about the significance of Darwin's species origin. He said: I don't think that species origin has a deep meaning and cannot be surpassed. But I think the most important fortune that Darwin has left us is to study carefully and persistently and diligently pursue our dreams.
