This article describes how to configure the STUB and NSSA regions of OSPF, and provides detailed steps for the configuration process. I believe this article can help you solve some configuration problems.

1. Configure the STUB area of OSPF

Perform the following configurations on the corresponding Huawei routers and Huawei switches as needed.

Step 1. Run the system-view command to go to the system view.>
Step 2. Run the ospf [process-id] command to start the OSPF process and enter the OSPF view.

Step 3 run the area-id command to go To the OSPF area view.

Step 4 execute the command stub [no-summary] and configure the current region as the Stub region.

Step 5 run the default-cost command to configure the overhead of the default route sent to the Stub region.

All the routers in the Stub stub region must be configured with the stub life attribute.
No-summary: The optional parameter no-summary can only be configured on the ABR for this region to take effect. Only the Summary-LSA of the default route is published to the region. Inter-Area-Prefix-LSA and Inter-Area-Router-LSAsummary-LSAs are not generated ). There is neither AS-external-LSAs nor the Stub region of summary-LSAs, also known AS the Totally Stub region.
Default-cost as we all know, the Default route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 in stub region is issued by the ABR. Therefore, this command must be configured on the ABR and there is no need for routers in other regions.

2. Configure The NSSA area of OSPF

Perform the following configurations on the corresponding Huawei routers and Huawei switches as needed.

Step 1 run the system-view command to go to the system view.

Step 2. Run the ospf [process-id] command to start the OSPF process and enter the OSPF view.

Step 3 run the area-id command to go To the OSPF area view.

Step 4 run The nssa [default-route-advertise | no-import-route | no-summary] command.

Step 5 run the default-cost command to configure the overhead of the default route sent to The NSSA region.

The vro in the Nassa NSSA region must use the nssa command to configure the region as the NSSA attribute.
The Default-route-advertise (optional) parameter command can only be configured on the ABR. The Default route can be issued without the need to configure the ABR in the stub region. However, you must configure this command in The nssa Region to issue the Default route.
No-summary: The optional parameter no-summary can only be configured on the ABR for this region to take effect. Only the Summary-LSA of the default route is published to the region. Inter-Area-Prefix-LSA and Inter-Area-Router-LSAsummary-LSAs are not generated ). There is neither AS-external-LSAs nor the Stub region of summary-LSAs, also known AS the Totally NSSA region.
Default-cost as we all know, the Default route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 In The nssa region is issued by the API. Therefore, this command must be configured on the API and there is no need for routers in other regions.
