In the Internet era where viruses are rampant, little Ghost has helped you a lot! -- 3-minute cloning, 3-minute recovery, instant System Restoration!
However, people are always pursuing simpler applications. Therefore, there are experience and skills on how to minimize the cloning of Ghost on and off the network. Unfortunately, the minimal cloning of popular Windows XP operating systems is common and misleading!
Misleading: Delete the page file Hiberfil. sys under the C-drive root directory.
One way is to teach readers to open "Control Panel → power options → sleep" step by step, deselect "enable power", and another way is to work harder-find the deltree.exe command file in DOS 6.22, copy to the root directory of the system disk, and then start the computer to pure DOS in various ways, and run the Deltree Hiberfil command. sys command to delete it -- because Hiberfil cannot be deleted in Windows. sys!
Misleading 2: Move the virtual memory or delete the Pagefile. sys file
There are also two misleading Methods: one is to move the virtual memory to other partitions, and the other is to start to pure DOS and delete it through Deltree, just like above.
In fact, although the above two files are large (by default, Hiberfil. sys is generally 255 MB, Pagefile. sys is generally 384 MB), but when the Ghost software is used for cloning, the Ghost does not copy them. go to the gho file-I used Ghost 6.0/7.0/Ghost) to open it. neither the gho file nor the Hiberfil. sys and Pagefile. sys! In this case, why do we do this!
So what measures can be taken to minimize the number of system disks to be cloned?
1. Through sfc.exe/purgecache to clear the File Cache, this is the most effective method, which can reduce the system by about MB;
2. Search the system disk to find all. cabi.zip packages, remove or delete them (which can reduce the size by about MB );
3. Delete temporary files through Cleanmgr (the disk cleanup tool in the attachment) and searching for. tmp and $ temporary files;
4. Help files, font files, desktop wallpaper files, etc. can be removed or deleted;
5. For the components that the system creates for you, such as games in MSN, OE, and accessories, you can use "Add/delete programs" to uninstall them;
6. An important habit is to install all programs in another partition to reduce the size of the system partition;
7. delete records and backups used for system restoration under the root directory of the System Disk-for the XP system, even if the system is just installed, there may also be dozens or even hundreds of MB backup files in the System Volume Information directory (click "Tools> Folder Options> View ", uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" to see ). This step can be completely cleared only after the last step is done before cloning, because as long as your system restore function is not disabled, all the modifications you make under its monitoring will be made in C: filing in System Volume Information! Of course, after deleting them, all the modifications made before this will not be restored!
