Ten minutes of partitioning backup and Restoration
1. Back up Windows XP partitions
Backing up and restoring Hard Disk Partitions using Ghost is the most commonly used operation. You can back up the content in a certain partition to an image file. For example, you can back up a Windows system partition (such as a C disk partition, after the system is damaged, the system can be quickly recovered from the image file within five minutes. The following uses the most popular Ghost version 8.0 as an example to demonstrate that there is only one hard disk, Windows XP is installed on the C drive, and there is a D partition in the computer, and there is about 5 GB of disk space.
Step 1: There are two versions of Ghost 8.0. in this example, ghost.exe8.0 is run in the DOS, and ghost32.exe is run in Windows. Directly store them in the ddisk ghostdirectory, and use the partition and restore commands to ensure ghost.exe ".
Step 2: Prepare a DOS boot floppy disk. If you do not have one, go to the Me boot disk. Restart your computer with a boot floppy disk. After a DOS prompt appears, enter:
D: (Press enter to switch to partition D)
Cd ghost (Press enter to enter the Ghost directory)
Ghost (Press enter to execute the Ghost program)
First, a prompt box appears. Press the Enter key to enter the main interface of Ghost.

VFloppy will let you lose the floppy disk
Floppy disk is the east of the last century, it is very inconvenient to use, it is recommended that you use cainiao "virtual boot floppy disk" (vFloppy) in the hard disk to virtual a soft drive (: http://nj.onlinedown.net/down/vfloppy.rar ). After downloading the file, decompress it to the "D: vfloppy15.pdf" folder, and then double-click "“vfloppy.exe". Click "Image File", select the image file path icon, and select "BOOTDISK" in "D: vfloppy15. open the img file and click the application button. In this way, when the computer is started to the boot menu, a "start from virtual boot floppy disk" item appears (if it is an English version of XP, this item is displayed as garbled, but does not affect the operation ), select it to start to DOS.
Step 3: press the upper, lower, left, and lower arrow keys on the keypad and select "Local"> "Partition"> "To Image" (see figure 1 ), press enter to open the Select local source drive by clicking on the drive number window. All disks on the computer will be displayed in this window (see figure 2 ).
Step 4: In this example, there is only one hard disk, which is selected by default. Press enter to display all the partition information on the hard disk (see figure 3 ).
Step 5:At this time, you must know which partition of the system is backed up. In this example, Windows XP is installed on drive C (1 Primary), so select numbers such as 1 Primary (3, 1, 2, and 3 in Part, it represents the C, D, E, and other partitions of the hard disk respectively), highlight it, and press enter (if you press enter again, cancel the selection ), press the Tab key to switch to the "OK" button ("OK" is displayed in white, indicating that the button is active now). Press the Enter key to open the "save" dialog box (see figure 4 ).
Step 6:This dialog box is used to set the location where the image file is saved. First, press the Tab key to switch to the "Look in" item (the selected item will be circled by a white box), and press the Enter key, select a disk partition from the drop-down list (in this example, the "D" partition is selected) and press Enter. In the list box below, press the up and down arrow keys to select a folder under the partition, and the image file will be saved in this folder (it is best to create an empty folder in advance to store the image file ). Press the Tab key to switch to the "File name" text box and enter any File name. However, to make it easier to remember, you 'd better select a meaningful file name. In this example, name the image file as "ghostXP" (without entering a suffix, Ghost will automatically add ". GHO), indicating that this is a Windows XP image.
Old bird tricks
The Tab key can jump to each part of the interface in a certain order. If you accidentally press one more part to skip the selected part, you can press Shift + Tab, it will jump back in the opposite direction.
Step 7:Press the Tab key to switch to the "Save" button and press the Enter key. A prompt box appears (see figure 5) asking if you want to compress the image file. "No" indicates No compression, "Fast" indicates Fast compression, and "High" indicates High compression. If the hard disk space is insufficient and the image file size is smaller, you can select "High", but the operation time will be extended. You can choose "Fast" to compromise the efficiency and file size ". In this example, you can press the Tab key to switch to the "High" button, press the Enter key, and a prompt window will pop up. Press the "Yes" button to start creating the image file.
Step 8:After the image file is created, a prompt box is displayed. Press enter to return to the main interface. Press the up and down arrow keys to switch to the "Quit" item, and press the Enter key to exit the Ghost.
2. Restore Windows XP partitions
Step 1:Follow the steps shown above to go to the main Ghost interface and select "Local"> "Partition"> "From Image )", press the Enter key to open the "Image file name to restore from" and select the Image file window.
Step 2:Select the image file ghostXP created above (see figure 6 ). Press the Tab key to switch to the "Open" button and press the Enter key.
Step 3:Because a GHO file can store backups of multiple partitions, Ghost will pop up window 7 to ask which partition is to be restored from The GHO file, because the created ghostXP only supports system partition backup, select it, press the Tab key to switch to the "OK" button, and press Enter.
Step 4:Then, Ghost analyzes the hard disk on the computer and displays the Select local destination drive by clicking on the drive number window (Select the target hard disk) to Select the target hard disk. In this example, there is only one hard disk, so select Hard Disk 1 to highlight it, and then press OK.
Step 5:Ghost will analyze the partition information in the hard disk and ask which partition the Ghost backup is to be restored to. Select 1st partitions and click OK (check the partition several times to prevent incorrect partition selection, this will cause data loss.) The Ghost will pop up the confirmation window. After you check the correctness, press the "Yes" button (to cancel the above operation, you can press the "No" button to return to the main interface ), ghost automatically starts recovery.
Dangerous!
Pay special attention to the partition used for restoring the system partition: Which partition is backed up by the image file? It is best to select the original partition during restoration. Do not select the wrong partition. After the image is restored, everything saved in the original partition will be lost. Therefore, you must back up important data files in the partition to other hard disks, CDs, or other storage media in advance.

Ghost Chinese partner helps with accessibility
Through the above learning, you will find that using Ghost is not that difficult, but we still have a more stupid and simple method, that is, using the Ghost Chinese companion software to complete basic settings in Windows, then go to DOS and run a command (also displayed in Chinese) to complete backup or recovery.

Step 2:After entering the main interface of the software, first select "compress the content of the 1st partitions on the 1st hard disks with medium compression ratio (recommended) (Take the C partition on the backup of 1st hard disks as an example ). Click the Browse button after "Back up to image file" to set the path and file name of The GHO file, for example, "d: sysBackupghoXP. gho" (see Figure 8 ).
Step 3:Click the "Save command on hard disk" button, so that the backup batch file "beifen" will be generated under the root directory of the G disk (the last partition of the hard disk. bat and the recovered batch processing file hu
