Remove small scratches on the disc/operating principle of the disc/correct use of the disc

In fact, there are some small scratches on the CD.
However, some CDs have become the killer of optical drive, but sometimes they cannot be lost. Some of them are classic and it is difficult to buy the same one. This is really a headache! I have been troubled by such troubles. How can I make these "waste" disks play a new role? I found a clever way to fix the uneven disc during my exploration.

Exclusive stunt: Use a steam iron to repair scratched discs

Fix General scratched discs

I have read some articles on how to fix the disc on the Internet and fixed the disc according to the steps mentioned in the article. The usual method is to smear the toothpaste and water on the disc data, then I used my fingers to repeatedly spread the toothpaste evenly on the Data surface of the disc clockwise. Through this method, the scratches on the disc were flattened. Through some effort, the effect was quite good, many discs that have already been declared to be the death penalty have been re-launched.

However, some CDs still have poor performance. I have carefully observed that the data surface of these CDs has basically no scratches, but why is it so hard to read them, during observation, we found that these CDs are similar, that is, when the discs are flushed and viewed from the side, we found that the discs are not very flat, the author estimates that the reason why the optical drive cannot be well read due to the disk being uneven. The current drive speed is very fast, and the optical drive has a high requirement on the geometric shape rules of the disc, during High-speed rotation, as long as the disc is a little irregular, it will fluctuate up and down under the drive of the drive shaft motor, which makes it difficult for the laser head to align with the disc to adjust the focal length.

How to fix uneven discs

When I saw my mom ironing the clothes, the genie suddenly flashed. No matter how wrinkled the clothes, as long as they were ironed by the iron, they would become very smooth. Can I use the iron to flatten the CD? I found through experiments that the effect was good and I saved a lot of CDs. Here we will teach you how to use the iron to repair the uneven disc.

Tools: steam iron (other iron not tried), thin cloth, glass, a little water.

Procedure:

A. First, use a thin cloth to wrap the CD to be repaired, and then wrap it with a layer on one side. Then, sprinkle the clear water on it to wet the cloth. Pay attention that the cloth must be pasted on the CD with no wrinkles.

B. then place the wrapped disc on a flat table. If you cannot find a block of glass, the glass is relatively flat. Then, the iron is heated to a certain temperature. The iron is reironed several times on the CD. After the iron is ironed, the restoration work is finished after it is dry and many CDs are saved. Is it very simple? If the ironing clothes are not good, you can find a diligent mm to operate, huh, huh!

How the CD works

A bright, mirrored disc is made of an extremely thin aluminum or gold audio film and a polyvinyl chloride plastic protective layer. Like a floppy disk and a hard disk, a CD can also store file and music information in binary data (consisting of "0" and "1. To store data on a CD, you must first use a computer to convert the data to binary, and then use a laser to burn the data into a flat, reflective disk. The small hole carved by the laser on the disc represents "1", and the blank space represents "0 ".

When reading data from the disc, the oriented beam (laser) quickly moves on the disc surface. The computer or laser singing opportunity that reads data from the disc observes every point the laser goes through to determine whether it reflects the laser. If it does not reflect a laser (there is a small pitfall), the computer will know that it represents a "1 ". If the laser is reflected back, the computer will know that this point is "0 ". Then, these thousands or millions of "L" and "0" are restored to music, files, or programs by computers or laser players.

CD routine maintenance

According to the working principle of the multimedia computer and the vcdnserver, we can know that when the optical drive is reading, its reading and writing headers are not directly in contact with the disk surface, instead, the laser reflected from the disc surface is detected on the disk surface, and then converted to Data. Therefore, any small scratches, dust, fingerprints, etc. will cause data reading errors. In the case of permanent damage, it will cause greater harm to the reading of information. Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to the daily maintenance of the CD.

In daily use, ensure that the disc and player seat are clean and intact. When the disc is taken and put down, it must be gently held on both sides, just like taking a photo of the negative film. After the use of the disc, take it out of the optical drive in time and put it in the envelope or in the video tray box. Do not litter it. If you have any conditions, it is best to put the disc on the disc rack. After each use, use a cloth or sewing hood to cover the VCD player or multimedia computer. It is best to make the cloth edge exceed the height of the machine and cover the gap exposed outside, prevent dust from entering the machine to avoid affecting the playback effect.

Do not place the disc randomly when it is temporarily placed, but make it smooth up. When returning the video box, check whether there is any foreign body in the disc and the video box. It is best to blow it with your mouth and then put the video disk into the box, to avoid scratches on the surface of the disc from any non-clean debris.

After a phase of use, the disc surface is easily stained with dirt or mildew. At this time, do not use alcohol, gasoline, head cleanser and other organic solvents to wipe and clean, to avoid damage to the disc. You can use a clean cotton ball dipped in water for cleaning, or put the CD under the tap water gently rinse with cold water, and then use a soft cloth to dry. In addition, you can use a special detergent for cleaning.

In normal times, do not wipe the disc too frequently. When you need to wipe the disc, do a radiation wipe from the center of the disc, rather than rotating the disc along the texture. Otherwise, the playing effect of the disc will be affected.

During use, be sure not to heat the disc. This is because the material used to make the disc is easily deformed at high temperatures, and any slight bending on the disk surface will affect the working quality of the laser head. If the disc is slightly deformed, stop using it immediately. Put it in the bag and compress it in the middle of two glass panels. Generally, the deformation degree can be reduced after 24 hours.

Because the information capacity of the optical disk is large and the distance between information tracks is very narrow, it is necessary to avoid using it in an environment with vibration, impact and instability. Otherwise, it may cause a beam disorder, reading errors, pauses, jumps, and other undesirable phenomena, seriously affecting the playback quality.

Use the CD correctly

Do not use pirated discs. Because the quality of pirated discs is not guaranteed and hard disk reading is difficult, the optical drive will read them repeatedly at work. In severe cases, the disc will still work under such conditions for a long time, the optical drive will be damaged.

It is strictly prohibited to use a hand-held disc with dirt and oil stains because it is easy to attach dirt to the disc, thus affecting data reading. In addition, when you put the disc into the optical drive, you must take it easy.

Do not put the CD in a paper that looks smooth in the book. In fact, it will also cause slight scratches on the CD. It is best to store the CD in the CD box after use. The disc will not be moved in this box, and there is a gap between the disk body and the box body, even if it is moved, it will not scratch the disk surface.

Do not place non-clean discs in the optical drive because the dust on the disk will affect the normal reading of the optical drive, and dust will also affect the service life of the optical drive.

Do not place a foreign object on the surface of the tag disc on the disc, which will cause the disc to lose balance during high-speed rotation. In addition, the adhesive limb may also penetrate the protective film and damage the optical drive.

Do not press the eject (out-of-box key) when the optical drive is working, so that the optical drive disc pops up and suddenly exits when it is rotating at high speed, which will cause damage to the disk.

Do not expose the disk to the sun or it may cause deformation of the disc. In severe cases, the reflective layer of the disc storing data will be damaged and data will be lost.

The disc is usually stored in a ventilated and dry place. When the disc is damaged or its surface is deformed, do not place it in the optical drive.
