I am often surprised when I talk to people who want to start my own business. When asked about my experience as an entrepreneur, they would say, "You're Lucky." or "It must be great to win in business competition ." Such comments make me laugh, because they are too inappropriate. This luck does not matter. As for business competition, the difference is that it is more intense than before.
This is why I want to share my story as an entrepreneur. First of all, I give a negative: at the end of each day, I will not sell my current situation for other choices. I am grateful for my ability to do what I really love. However, becoming an entrepreneur is not as easy and carefree as many people think. The opposite is true. When everything is invested in your business, including your time, money, passion, and creativity, you are on the verge of confusion. When you start working at home, or your partner or family member works with you, it means that you seldom leave your office-at least mentally.
Let me start with the difficult reality of several entrepreneurs.
1. heavy pressure. If you think it is very difficult to reach the deadline or requirements given by a boss, try to reach your own, especially when your deposit is no longer supported. Maybe you have started to use a secondary loan, and your credit card has been cracked. Or you may borrow money from your family or friends, and you have been urged to pay back the money as soon as possible. This pressure will light up the fire in the heart of the lazy character. You will not only feel this pressure to start your business, but you will also feel this additional pressure to help you fix your financial problems so quickly.
2. There will never be an end. Yes, it is always thankless to work for others. You know that your skills and wisdom ultimately help others earn a big vote. But in most jobs, when you go home to enjoy family life, stay with friends, or indulge in your love, you can leave your work behind. For an entrepreneur, there is a lot of work pressure, especially in the early days when you are also a CEO, CFO, HR, sales staff, marketing staff, technical staff office administrator and guard. Among all these roles, you rarely feel that today's work has been completed. There will always be more to do. For example, investigating new markets, writing documents, Contacting new media, making cold calls to new sellers, and developing new products. These will swallow the time you spent with your family, your entertainment activities, fitness activities, and relaxation time. This is an insurmountable balance.
3. High volatility. Maybe you will work with people you are not really interested in. Or you may receive the product to be used the next day the day before the exhibition and find it damaged. Or you have prepared for it many days of media interviews canceled due to a natural disaster. As an entrepreneur, this kind of situation is very common. (I started from my experience. All of the above situations have happened to me .) The real situation is that you never know what is going on in front of you. When you have planned and spent time on product development, there may be great twists and turns, the last thing you can do is to fix the boxes that are damaged during transportation.
Why do people still want to be an entrepreneur under these tensions, pressures, and workload? Will someone think so? The answer is simple: the positive side overcomes the negative side.
1. This is rewarding. When you succeed, you will be rewarded with both wealth and spirit. It is better to see that the product you have worked hard to develop has been put on the shelf, or when you see that it has provided a successful service to an important customer, there is no feeling better than this. It is exciting to reach a sales deal or win a new customer through your hard work. How nice it is when a customer tells you that your products, services, or samples have changed their lives. Of course, earning profits and knowing that your business is financially stable is also a great return.
2. flexibility. When you work for yourself, you naturally feel that you will no longer work in the traditional nine to five environment. I believe this is due to flexibility. Yes, you can work for a longer period of time, but you can decide on your own as needed. You can stop working at school to pick up your children at three o'clock P.M. without the boss's consent. You can work from the property to AM, if you are a night owl. When you are the boss, you give orders. This new freedom is pleasant.
3. This is an opportunity to create. Many entrepreneurs create great things, help others, or eliminate things driven by their needs. Maybe this is a business that allows your children to participate and grow; maybe this will keep you forever after you leave the world. No matter what your motives are, creating and operating from scratch is like raising a child. This is your child. It is your parenting that has brought him to such a successful situation. This sense of satisfaction is different from most other career paths.
