The new feature of Windows phone 8.1 projection my screen (Project my screens) can be real-time projection of mobile phone screen to TV, computer and other devices to facilitate the WP8.1 real computer demonstration. Available via Miracast Wireless or USB cable, the former requires hardware/hardware firmware and receive-side support, which requires drivers and programs to be installed on the PC.
Microsoft has released the PC-side project my screen app and driver, and can use the USB cable to project my onscreen features:
- Download and install the Project My screen app (752KB) Release date: 2014/5/12
- Run the Project My screen app,esc key or ALT + Enter key to exit fullscreen
- Connect your phone to your computer via a USB data cable
- The phone will be prompted to "Allow screen projection?" Click Yes to start projection, click No to ignore

WP8.1 projection my screen function tips
- PC can control WP8.1 phone, tap screen or return/start/Search button
- Open "Settings > Project My Screen", click on Windows pc to pause projection, click again to restore real-time projection
- Open Settings > Project my screen > advanced to choose whether to turn on the touch point, the color of the touch point, and the screen orientation
- The Project My screen application installation directory, config configuration, configures the background of the app, the phone model diagram, and the file contains templates and annotations
- Project My Screen shortcut key: The Left and RIGHT ARROW keys switch to landscape, and the UP and DOWN ARROW keys are adjusted to portrait screen

If you are running the Project My screen App, you encounter the Failed to initialize the application. hr=0x80010106 "error, you can try restarting the system (log off also line) and try again.
If the phone does not appear to allow the projection of the hint, you can follow the steps below to try:
- Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Open Device Manager, Start screen search or select from the Win + X menu
- Click "View > Show hidden Devices"
- Find all Lumia-related items in your mobile device (portable deivces) and USB devices (Universal Serial Bus devices), right-click Uninstall
- If so, you must check "Uninstall installed drivers"
- Follow the article at the beginning of the installation and use Project My screen app

In addition to USB mode projection, the Nokia Lumia 1520, Lumia Icon and the new Lumia 930 will all support the Lumia Cyan firmware that is pushed through the Miracast Wi-Fi wireless projection screen, but need to start this summer.
If you just need to project the media content on your phone, you can use the DLNA-based Nokia Play to app, and the projector between your phone and phone can be used with Nokia Beamer.
