We have used a lot of network protocols, but we do not know about them many times. Here we will explain the functions and faults of commonly used DHCP.
In previous DHCP server configurations, we sometimes find some annoying problems, such as the DHCP scope problem we are talking about today. My school has two data centers. The computer in data center A is A specified IP address, and the computer in data center B uses the DHCP service to automatically obtain the IP address. When the two data centers use and access the Internet at the same time, some computers often encounter faults (such as the failure of the network and slow speed ).
DHCP scope Cause Analysis
When data center A with the specified IP address is enabled first, all computers in the room can access the Internet normally. If data center B with the automatically obtained IP address is enabled first, in this case, the IP address of data center B conflicts with the IP address of the computer in data center A, causing some> computers to be unable to access the Internet. Therefore, I decided to leave a specified IP address segment in the DHCP scope of data center B to avoid IP address conflicts.
DHCP scope Solution Process
After resetting the DHCP scope, I did not restart Windows 2000 Server (Server System). As a result, all the computers in Server room B cannot access the Internet. In the beginning, it was thought that the access line was faulty, but the test instrument was used to detect it normally. it was suspected that there was a problem with the hub hardware and that it was caused by a broadcast storm caused by hardware damage. After the hub was changed, the fault remained; consider whether there are redundant lines that constitute a loop, so that data packets are constantly sent and verified, leading to the inability to access the Internet. The author immediately removes all connections to ensure that no loop is formed, there is still a problem that only one hub is configured for data center B. When I feel exhausted, I accidentally restart the server and the problem is solved immediately.
DHCP scope Summary
When the specified IP address conflicts with the IP address obtained by DHCP, and some computers cannot access the Internet, the specified IP address segment should be reserved in the DHCP scope to avoid repeated IP addresses; after the DHCP scope is reset, all the computers in the machine room that use DHCP to automatically obtain the IP address cannot access the Internet, because Windows 2000 Server has not restarted, it can be seen that the Network Setting in Windows 2000 Server does not need to be restarted to take effect. In addition, the gradual division is also a good way to solve similar problems.
