The latest version of Lightroom has added two new tools, while making significant improvements to old tools. The unique features of the software and the convenient process make it an indispensable tool for photographers. Modifying the photo module is the focus of this tutorial. Users who are familiar with the gradient filter or adjust the brush tool must not be unfamiliar with the radial filter, which also helps us to set options for setting exposure, sharpness, saturation, and so on for the selected range. Like the tools of the past, the tool also creates a smooth transition between the original artwork and the adjustment range with the feather option set.

Unlike a gradient filter that works on the entire screen, a radial filter can handle any part. Another interesting new feature, called vertical correction, automatically adjusts the vertical and horizontal elements of the screen to automatically correct the perspective distortion, especially for photographs taken with an ultra wide-angle lens. Some minor improvements to existing tools are also stunning, especially in the case of the repair artist. The Stain remover tool removes the limitations of the past that can only be handled on a per-point basis and is now able to adjust to any shape's area like a healing brush tool. Next, let's look at how these tools are used.

Operation Steps:

01 Import and Adjustment

Open the Gallery module, click the Import button, select a raw picture and import it. Select the file and go to the Modify photo module. First, set the color temperature to 5000 in the base panel, the hue setting to 0, the exposure setting to-0.36, the high light setting to-6, and the white setting to-67.

02 Vertical Correction function

Open the Lens Correction panel and select the base subpanel. Check the 3 options above "Enable profile correction", and then click each of the correction options below to see how they affect the photo. For this piece of work, the automatic option gets the most out of the processing.

03 Facial Finishes

Select the Stain healing Brush tool. In the right tool option, set the brush to fix, opacity 100. Remove stains and wrinkles from the face using a click or smear on the person's face. Keyboard shortcuts, available to adjust the size of the brush. The tool will automatically select the reference point and we can change it manually.

04 Cleaning up the background

Use the Stain healing brush tool to accurately cover the background clutter in the upper-left corner of the screen, and then press the left mouse button on the reference area to drag it to the blank background on the right side of the screen. If the adjustment results are not ideal, you can outline a new fix box along the edge of the adjustment area to get a smoother blend.

05 Adding dark Corners

Then, select the Gradient Filter tool from the toolbar, drag and drop the mouse in the screen to create an adjustment box, and select the Palm and face frame. In the right-hand option bar, set the exposure to-2.07, sharpness-61, saturation-10. The Feather slider controls the transition effect of the edge, and we set it to 39.

06 Final Adjustment

Finally, select the Cutting tool from the toolbar, cut off the blank screen in the upper right corner, and highlight the main body status of the person. Create an S-shaped curve in the tonal curve panel to enhance the overall contrast of the picture. Finally, execute the file > Export command to export the adjusted photo as a JPEG file.

TIPS:

Vertical correction Function: This function provides a horizontal, vertical, complete, automatic 4 different algorithms to correct the image tilt and perspective distortion. Overall, the adjustment results for each algorithm are ideal. We have every reason to perform a similar adjustment to all the photos taken, such as ensuring the horizon level in a series of scenery photos. Commands are better adjusted to understand the lenses used by the shot, so turn on the Enable Profile correction option before adjusting. If the program does not automatically recognize the shot used when the photo is taken, first manually set the lens option in the configuration file and then correct it.

Wetting portrait Artwork: When using the stain remover to retouch portrait artwork, we can hold down the shit key click to draw a line connecting two clicks. This method is very suitable for removing the wires, flying hair and so on in the picture. Using the CTRL + + + key to control the zoom ratio is more practical than using the 4 zoom options on the right side of the navigator when doing a repair operation.
