511-CPU Fan not detected" error
Origin
A small chassis has recently been changed, HP's CPU fan can not be installed up. Thought for a while, also has nothing to do with it, then don't put it up. The result turned on, reported the error, "511-CPU Fan not detected". Cause each boot must press the F1 key to boot. It's a real annoyance. Finally after the search found a way to turn off the CPU fan self-test. Solving method
1. Press the ESC key at power-on to enter the interface that needs to be pressed F1. Then press the F10 key to enter the BIOS. Some people will disdain, this is not superfluous. Not also, I tested several times, the direct boot press F10 is not able to enter the HP BIOS.
2. After entering the BIOS, select the Power menu and enter the thermal below it. Ordinary into this below, only two items: CPU Fan Speed and System Fan Speed. Under the thermal interface, press CTRL and A key, and then F10 in, there are two more items: CPU Fan check and System Fan check ... This is the key to solving the problem.
3. Change the value of the CPU Fan check to Disabled, and then save the reboot.
4. Over.
