For virtual machines, there are three ways to configure Linux Redhat on the Internet
I. Configuring with the Setup command (specific tips to check the use of the Setup command)
Two. Configure directly with ifconfig eth0 IP address
Three. Enter the system file to configure the following command (personal): Vim/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
Attention:
BOOTPROTO=DHCP indicates that the IP is dynamically allocated (very useful on LAN)
Bootproto=static indicates that the configured IP is fixed, and the corresponding Ip,network,gateway is configured below.
The following prerequisites should be noted in the configuration process:
(1) The virtual machine is installed on the Windows operating system, then the Windows operating system on the virtual network card to open an account, and set up as a bridge, IP can be set to automatic acquisition, can also set their own, according to the actual situation to decide.
(2) The network on the virtual machine should also be set to the corresponding bridge mode;
(3) After each configuration, pay attention to restarting the network card (on Linux), the command starts as follows:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network Restart or service network restart
Problems encountered during configuration:
At the beginning of the Ifconfig command, no eth0 information is displayed, only the LO information is displayed, the network card is restarted, and it displays the following message: "Determining IP information for eth0 ... Failed; no link. Check the cable? The same message is displayed with the ifup eth0 after Ifdown eth0 with the command. (another point, if there is no good, with a browser to open a URL, it will prompt, can not find the name, or to ask you to register, but the registration is not connected, failure).
WORKAROUND: Use the command ifconfig eth0 up before using ifup eth0. (This is done every time you restart the operating system)
