In the previous installments, we learned about the installation of the main parts of the chassis, but the installed process is not finished yet. Because there are still a lot of cables on the chassis panel, what are they doing? They are switches and LEDs, as well as PC speaker connections, which are connected to the motherboard. This is not a very simple matter, because these connections are more, and easy to mess up, but it is very painful to install. So today we're going to look at how to connect the chassis panel signal connection on the motherboard.

First, connect the signal connection of the chassis panel

The chassis panel connection pins on the motherboard are generally located near the edge of the lower left of the motherboard, typically a two-line pin, with a total of 10 groups, as shown in Figure 1. There are also some motherboard chassis panel wiring pins that use a single line pin, as shown in Figure 2. Regardless of how the chassis panel wiring pins are arranged, the design may be placed in a different position, but at least it will include a power switch, a reset switch, a power LED, a hard drive indicator, a speaker, and so on. In the motherboard manual, there will be a detailed description of which group of pins should be connected to which line, we only need to control the insertion can be. Even without the motherboard instructions, it doesn't matter, because most motherboards will have each set of pins printed on the motherboard's board. As long as you observe carefully you can use these English letters to properly install a variety of wiring.

1. Power switch

The power switch is the signal that triggers the ATX power supply to the motherboard and other devices, and the power switch on the chassis panel is used to turn the power on/off (soft shutdown). When connecting to the power switch connection, locate the two-pin plug on the chassis panel line labeled "Powered SW". 2. Reset switch
The reset switch is used to restart the computer. When connecting the reset switch line, locate the two-pin plug with "reset SW" from the chassis panel connection. 3. Power LED

The power LED can indicate whether the motherboard is currently powered on. When connecting the power LED connection, locate the three-pin plug labeled "powered LED" from the chassis panel connection. The middle of a line is vacant, both ends are white green color (as shown in Figure 5), and then inserted in the motherboard marked with "PWR led" or "P led" on the pin. Because the power LED is a light-emitting diode, the connection is directional. Some motherboards will be labeled "P led+" and "P led-", we need to link the green end to the P led+ pin, the white line is connected to the P led-pin.
