Many students have been at home to build a wireless network, but because of barriers such as wall block, so that wireless signal attenuation is very severe, in order to solve this problem many students have begun to try to use Wireless bridge router in the home to expand the range of wireless network

But many students reflect that the router bridge is successful, but still can only from the main route (a route) to the Internet, but can not from the secondary route (b route, from the route) to the Internet, searched all kinds of tutorials, still can not solve,

Some students even had a few days did not fix, but also gas, but also helpless

This tutorial will help you solve the problem of router bridging, unable to route the Internet from the Vice

At present, the majority of students bridging is using WDS----wireless distributed system to bridge the two routers, this tutorial is mainly for WDS features, Brigde features This tutorial does not necessarily solve

It is understood that most of the students bridging the router's method is either from Baidu Library and other places to check, or refer to the router instructions, in my opinion, these methods are not by the shop, are incomplete, these tutorials simply explained how to bridge two routers, but did not solve the actual problem of Internet access

Many tutorials have this step: when you set up the secondary route (b route, from the route) all the DHCP server-----The Dynamic Host Setting protocol (which can automatically assign IP address to the device), causing all devices connected to the secondary route to be unable to get the IP address [some students have opened, but not set up, So even the IP address of the device's enlightenment is invalid]

The workaround has the following two:

1. Manually set IP address for the device (cumbersome, not recommended)

Obtain the following information from the master route:

LAN port IP address for primary route

Subnet mask for master route (also called netmask, address mask, subnet mask)

A total of 2 DNS server addresses are obtained for the WAN port of the master route.

As shown in the example of Tp-link router

Set IP addresses for your own wireless and wired devices

2. Manually configure the secondary routing of the DHCP server (relatively simple, highly recommended)

Obtain the following information from the master route:

LAN port IP address for primary route

Subnet mask for master route (also called netmask, address mask, subnet mask)

A total of 2 DNS server addresses are obtained for the WAN port of the master route.

The DHCP server address pool for the primary route (the start address to the end address is called an address pool)

As shown in the example of Tp-link router

DHCP server with secondary routing enabled
sets the address pool of the secondary routing DHCP to a state that does not intersect with the primary route

For example, the main route is 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.199

Then the sub route can be 192.168.1.50-192.168.1.99 or 192.168.1.200-192.168.1.225.

No change in address pool lease time

The LAN port IP address of the primary route is filled in at the gateway of the secondary routing DHCP, which is usually 192.168.1.1

Default domain name one column is empty.

To fill in the DNS server addresses obtained from the primary routing Wan at the primary DNS server and alternate DNS server for the secondary routing DHCP

As shown in figure:

Save the secondary route and connect to the secondary route to see if the Internet is available

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  Originally understood that:
a device can access the Internet first must obtain a valid IP address (consists of IP address, subnet mask and DNS server)

The general primary routing DHCP server is turned on by default, so devices connected to the master route can be assigned a valid IP address through the primary routing DHCP server to be able to access the Internet

If the secondary routed DHCP server is turned off, the device connected to the secondary route will not be able to assign an IP address to the Internet via the secondary routing DHCP server.

Even if it is turned on, the IP address assigned by the default DHCP server for the secondary route is only available for Internet access through the secondary routing Wan, which is not an invalid IP address

Therefore, we need to modify the DHCP server settings for the secondary route so that its assigned IP address can be connected to the Internet via the primary routing Wan

Then first IP address to the main route in the same network segment (generally as long as the IP address to ensure that the last 3-bit is not the same as the main or secondary route)

Because the primary route is the equivalent of a server, the gateway is its own LAN port IP address, so the secondary routing DHCP gateway should meet the same IP address as the LAN port of the primary route

Next is the DNS server, the main route to the internet there is also a condition is a valid DNS server address, generally through the WAN port dial-up or dynamic IP can get 2 DNS server addresses, one is the primary DNS server, the other is an alternate DNS server

Then we also need to set the DNS server address for the sub-routed DHCP server, so that the IP address assigned via the secondary routing DHCP server can be used to access the network via the main routed Wan, that is, the IP address assigned through the secondary routing DHCP server is valid

This solves the problem of not being able to route the Internet from the vice.

This is the end of the tutorial, I hope that the harvest, also do not forget to circulate, to help more people, have doubts and I can communicate
