Routine monitoring and maintenance commands for the AIX System

UNIX operating systems are widely used by telecom operators, and almost all backend servers of various business management systems use UNIX operating systems. As a UNIX operating system, AIX is welcomed by many system administrators for its high stability and compatibility. The following provides several methods for sharing, aiming to improve the purpose, pertinence, and maintenance efficiency of maintenance, reduce the fault rate, and achieve "targeted" and "foolproof" in daily maintenance management ". 1. Run the DF-K Command to check whether the file system is full. After logging on to Aix with the root user, Run "#" at the command prompt and enter DF-K ., checks the usage of the file system in K. If the usage (% iused) exceeds 90%, you need to adjust the space. 2. Run the errpt | more command to view the system error log. at the command prompt "#", enter: errpt | more, displays system error logs (including hardware and software error messages) by page ). Determine the running status of system hardware and software based on the displayed information. Enter the errclear 0 command to clear existing system logs. 3. Use the last command to check the system logon status
Enter "#" at the command prompt and enter "last" to display the login information of each login user (such as root. If an abnormal login user or login IP address is found, check and handle the security accordingly. 4. Run the find/-name core-print command to check whether a large core file is generated. Enter "#" at the command prompt and then find/-name core-print, indicates that all files named core are searched from the system root directory (a huge core file may cause system crash ). If yes, delete it directly. 5. Run the vmstat command to check the CPU and memory running status. Enter "#" at the command prompt and run vmstat 5 to display the system CPU and memory running status every five seconds. View the display value of the R (number of processes in the running Queue) field of the kthr (number of processes in the running Queue) field, if the value is 4 times or more than 4 times the actual number of CPUs of the system, it indicates that the CPU usage is too high. You need to increase the operating frequency of the system CPU; view the fre (number of idle pages) of the memory (virtual and real memory usage information) field. If the value is lower than 120, the system memory is insufficient. Sometimes, although the value is higher than 120, you can adjust the memory according to the actual situation; view the page (page activity information) Field Pi (from the page input page), Po (page output to the page), FR (number of idle pages), and Sr (number of pages searched by the page replacement algorithm, these four values are generally 0, and sometimes may also be 1. Finally, view the US (user process time) and Sy (system process time) of the CPU (CPU usage) field) the sum of the two values should not exceed 90%. Otherwise, the CPU capability is insufficient. 6. Run the LSPs-a command to check swap memory space usage. Enter "#" at the command prompt and then: LSPs-a to query swap memory space usage. If the % used field is lower than 70%, the system runs normally. 7. Run the mail-u root command to check the mail error report sent by the system to the root user. Run "#" at the command prompt and enter "mail-u root, displays the mail error report sent by the system to the root user. Check whether there is any hardware or software error information report and handle it accordingly. 8. Run the diag command to check the running status of the system hardware. Run the diag command every month to check the running status of the system hardware and detect possible hardware faults in time. To sum up, as the AIX System Administrator, make predictions in daily maintenance work, monitor the system in a timely manner, and eliminate possible system faults in the early stage.
