II. RSS beginners
1. What is RSS?
The above websites have their own understanding and definitions of RSS. Here I will describe what RSS is in my language:
An XML file has a link to it on the homepage of the website. It is usually a small orange icon marked with "XML" or "RSS". When IE opens it, it finds that it is not a webpage, instead, it is a text file with a tree section label structure (similar to an HTML file). The text content can be viewed directly, but it is inconvenient to read it in many tags.
The question is: what is it? How to use it?
2. RSS usage-subscription; read abstract list
After learning, I realized that RSS recorded the latest articles on the website, including the title, abstract, and links to the article on the original website. RSS itself is an XML document, which can be stored on the server as static as HTML files. You do not need to access the home page of the website from a browser (such as IE). You only need to directly connect to the RSS to receive the latest content of the website. There are several advantages to doing so. One is that users can directly extract the essence of information from advertisements on the Web, and the other is that users can customize their favorite channels, instead of passively accepting the channel categories arranged by a website.
