Determine the requirement type

A Requirements type contains the control parameters to plan and specify planned independent requirements and customer requirements. Specify requirements types or combinations of requirements types from planned independent requirements and customer requirements are defined for each planning strategy.

The requirement type includes the control parameters for independent requirements and customer requirements of the plan and consumption plan. Different types of requirements or combinations of demand types in the independent requirements of the plan and customer requirements are set in each planning strategy.

You do not have to define any new strategies. sap's standard delivery provides you with all strategies described in this document. There are only a few cases where you should define your own planning strategies.

If you want the system to determine the requirements type when automatically creating the planned independent requirements, enter strategy groups for the corresponding materials in the material master record. if the strategy group allows a number of planning strategies, the system proposes the requirements type from the main strategy. you can overwrite this strategy in the sales order using one of the alternative requirements types inOverview->PRocurementScreen.

If you want the system to determine the demand type when you automatically create a scheduler independent requirement and input the relevant material's Policy Group in the material master data. If the policy group allows several planning policies, the system recommends the requirement type in the master policy. You can use the alternative demand type in the sales order to overwrite this policy.OVerview->PRocurementPage.

Assigning a planning strategy via the MRP Group

The MRP group is assigned to the material in the material master record.

Allocate the MRP group to the item in the item master data.

2. If you have entered a strategy group or an MRP group containing the appropriate strategies in the material master record, you do not have to enter a requirements type in demand management.

If the policy group or MRP group in your material master data contains the correct policy, you do not need to enter the requirement type in requirement management.

The system determines the valid requirements type with The Strategy Group from the material master record and automatically proposes this type when creating independent requirements (or customer requirements ). if the strategy group contains more than one planning strategy, the system proposes the requirements type of the main strategy. if necessary, you can overwrite this proposal using one of the requirements types from the alternative strategies.

The system uses the policy group in the material master data to determine the Valid Requirement type, and automatically recommends this requirement type when you create an independent requirement (or customer requirement. If the policy group contains multiple policy groups, the system uses the requirement type of the Master policy. If needed, you should use the requirement type in the alternative policy to cover the suggested requirement type.

In order for demand management and sales orders to correctly locate the demand type, you must:

Assign the strategy groups to the MRP groups, and

Assign a policy group to the MRP group and

Assign the MRP groups to every material to be planned in the material master record.

In the material master data, assign this MRP component to each planned material.

PS. This process is in demand management or sales order. The Strategy Group is brought out by the associated MRP group, and the requirement type is brought out by the Strategy Group @?
